Our Intelligent Hydration systems combine cutting-edge hardware with powerful software to optimize performance, health, and recovery—starting with elite athletes and expanding to everyday adventurers. We believe the future of wellness is precision-driven, personalized, and always evolving—and we're just getting started.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical / Hardware Systems Engineer to lead the design and development of embedded hardware systems from concept through production. This role requires strong system-level thinking and hands-on execution across power, sensing, actuation, and communication systems. You will help define hardware architecture, design critical circuits, lead bring-up and debugging, and support scaling products into manufacturing.

This is a role for an engineer who enjoys owning complex systems end-to-end, thrives in fast-moving environments, and is comfortable working across disciplines to bring real products to life.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working across power, digital, and mixed-signal domains, and can design, debug, and scale complex embedded systems in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment.

What You'll Do

System Architecture & Hardware Development

  • Define and drive system-level hardware architecture, including partitioning across core subsystems and expansion modules
  • Design embedded hardware systems including schematics, component selection, and PCB layout guidance
  • Develop robust power architectures including battery systems, switch-mode power supplies (buck/boost), sequencing, and protection
  • Design and integrate motor drivers and actuator systems, including power delivery and control considerations
  • Contribute to development of scalable platform architectures supporting multiple product variants

Hardware Bring-Up & Debugging

  • Lead hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation of prototypes and production hardware
  • Perform root-cause analysis of complex hardware issues across power, sensing, and communication systems
  • Identify and resolve noise coupling issues across mixed-signal systems (power, RF, sensing, and digital domains)
  • Drive EMI/EMC and ESD design and debugging, including grounding strategy, return path control, shielding, and interface protection

System Integration

  • Collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, and product teams to ensure cohesive system integration
  • Support integration of microcontrollers, sensors, wireless modules, and communication interfaces
  • Help identify and mitigate system-level risks across electrical, mechanical, and firmware boundaries

Manufacturing & Productization

  • Support transition from prototype to production, including DFM/DFT and production readiness
  • Help define manufacturing test strategies and validation processes
  • Evaluate engineering tradeoffs across cost, performance, reliability, and manufacturability

What Success Looks Like in This Role

  • Develop a deep understanding of the system architecture, design constraints, and product requirements
  • Take ownership of key hardware subsystems, driving design improvements and resolving critical technical issues
  • Lead hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation of new prototypes and iterations
  • Identify and reduce system-level risks related to power integrity, EMI, signal integrity, and system integration
  • Contribute to improving hardware reliability, manufacturability, and scalability as the product moves toward production
  • Communicate clearly across engineering disciplines and build strong working relationships with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in hardware design and embedded system development
  • Demonstrated experience bringing hardware products from concept through production
  • Strong experience with mixed-signal embedded systems
  • Experience designing switch-mode power supplies, battery-powered systems, and power distribution
  • Experience with motor drivers, actuators, or other electromechanical systems
  • Strong debugging skills across hardware and system-level issues
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve EMI/EMC and ESD issues in complex systems
  • Solid understanding of noise coupling mechanisms, return path control, grounding strategies, and protection design
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams including firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing

Preferred

  • Experience with portable or battery-powered systems
  • Experience with wireless systems (BLE, NFC, or similar)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing test development and production scaling
  • Experience designing platform architectures across multiple product variants
  • Experience working in consumer electronics or connected device environments

Tools & Technologies

  • ECAD tools such as Altium Designer (or similar)
  • Lab equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and power measurement tools
  • Experience debugging embedded systems using MCUs and common communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, etc.)
