Security Operations Manager

Location: Addison, TX – Corporate Headquarters
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Compensation: $60K - 65K Annually

About the Role

First Responder Protective Services (FRPS) is seeking a Security Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of assigned Level II Security Officers, Level III Commissioned Security Officers, and Alarm Monitoring personnel.

This position has direct responsibility for staffing, scheduling, supervision, employee performance, training, timekeeping, site compliance, and operational readiness across assigned security operations. The Security Operations Manager is accountable for ensuring posts are properly staffed, employees are prepared to perform their assignments, time and attendance records are accurate, and operational issues are addressed through resolution.

This is a hands-on management position requiring strong leadership, organization, communication, accountability, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

Personnel Management

  • Manage and supervise assigned Level II, Level III, and Alarm Monitoring personnel, including attendance, performance, professionalism, conduct, and accountability.
  • Interview applicants and participate in hiring decisions; coordinate with Recruiting and HR on current and anticipated staffing needs.
  • Coach and counsel employees, investigate performance or conduct concerns, and initiate or recommend disciplinary action or termination when warranted and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure newly assigned personnel complete required onboarding, post-specific training, and operational instruction before working independently.
  • Ensure all required licenses, credentials, certifications, and training remain current.

Scheduling, Staffing & Timekeeping

  • Build, maintain, and manage schedules while ensuring all assigned posts remain properly staffed.
  • Address call-outs, no-shows, vacancies, schedule changes, staffing shortages, and anticipated coverage needs.
  • Maintain an adequate pool of trained backup personnel and proactively plan for PTO, special assignments, vacancies, and other staffing needs.
  • Monitor staffing levels and control unnecessary overtime while taking immediate action to prevent uncovered posts.
  • Review and approve timesheets within payroll deadlines; compare scheduled hours to actual hours worked and identify missed punches, early arrivals, late departures, unauthorized overtime, and other variances.
  • Investigate, document, and communicate scheduling or timekeeping discrepancies, including required corrections and supporting documentation, to Payroll, HR, leadership, and other appropriate personnel.
  • Hold employees accountable for recurring or avoidable attendance and timekeeping issues.

Site & Operations Management

  • Conduct scheduled and unannounced site visits to inspect posts, evaluate employee performance, and verify personnel are properly uniformed, equipped, licensed, and prepared.
  • Ensure compliance with post orders, company policies, and site-specific requirements; identify operational deficiencies and implement corrective action.
  • Review incidents, complaints, employee concerns, and service deficiencies and ensure appropriate follow-through and resolution.
  • Maintain accurate operational documentation and prepare required weekly management reports, including staffing issues, deficiencies, corrective actions, incidents, and other notable operational matters.
  • Maintain clear communication with internal teams regarding staffing changes, employee concerns, incidents, and operational issues, ensuring matters requiring additional action are properly escalated and tracked through resolution.
  • Communicate with client site representatives regarding day-to-day staffing, site operations, and service matters while coordinating broader client relationship matters with the Client Engagement Manager.

After-Hours Operations

  • Respond to after-hours call-outs, no-shows, staffing shortages, and urgent operational needs for assigned accounts.
  • Work with FRPS's after-hours team to identify available personnel and coverage solutions while maintaining ownership of the issue through resolution.
  • Coordinate replacement personnel and confirm coverage has been restored before considering a staffing issue resolved.
  • Escalate significant operational issues when appropriate while continuing to coordinate the response.
  • When all reasonable staffing options have been exhausted, personally provide guard coverage when qualified and necessary to prevent an assigned post from remaining uncovered.
  • Treat manager-provided coverage as a last-resort solution and proactively maintain adequate staffing and backup personnel to minimize the need for management to work guard posts.

Required Qualifications

Licenses & Experience

  • Active Texas Level II Security Officer License.
  • Active Texas Level III Commissioned Security Officer License.
  • Minimum 5 years of verifiable security supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong understanding of security operations, post orders, scheduling, timekeeping, and personnel management.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to make sound, independent decisions in time-sensitive situations.

Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from FRPS Corporate Headquarters.
  • Ability and willingness to conduct site visits and travel between assigned locations.
  • Ability and willingness to respond to after-hours operational and staffing needs.
  • Ability and willingness to personally provide security coverage when necessary as a last-resort solution

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a hands-on security leader who takes ownership and follows through. The ideal candidate does not simply identify or pass along problems—they assess the situation, communicate with the appropriate personnel, document what occurred, develop a solution, and remain engaged until the issue is resolved.

The Security Operations Manager must be comfortable balancing people management, scheduling, staffing, timekeeping, site oversight, operational communication, documentation, and unexpected challenges while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and accountability.

Success in this position requires someone who plans ahead rather than constantly reacting to staffing problems, holds employees accountable, maintains reliable backup coverage, and understands the importance of keeping appropriate team members informed when operations vary from what was scheduled, authorized, or expected.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $60K-65K Annually

Benefits include:

  • Medical Insurance Contribution: FRPS will contribute up to $300 per month toward health insurance coverage through one of our offered medical plans, should you choose to enroll.

  • Leadership growth and advancement opportunities within FRPS.
