This role provides 1:1 nursing support for a student during the school day.
As a 1:1 school nurse, you will be assigned to support one student who requires ongoing medical care. Your role is to help remove health-related barriers, support independence, and ensure the student can fully engage in their educational environment.
This role allows you to focus on individualized care, relationship-building, and consistent support for one student throughout the school day.
Success in this role requires strong communication skills, a relationship-focused approach, and the ability to work collaboratively with educational staff to support both health and learning goals.
This schedule includes riding the school bus with the student to and from school as part of the workday.

You’ll provide nursing support within the school setting, including:
Primary responsibility is supporting one elementary-aged student with complex pulmonary needs who is tracheostomy and ventilator dependent.
The classroom serves students with cognitive impairments, requiring collaboration with educational staff and occasional support with redirection strategies to help maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
This role offers the opportunity to build a meaningful, long-term relationship with a student and school community while providing consistent nursing support throughout the school year.
Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to build trust with both the student and educational team are important for success in this role.
