Director, Competitive Intelligence – Corporate Strategy

Position Overview

As a key contributor within the Corporate Strategy function, the Director, Competitive Intelligence will independently lead integrated market and competitive intelligence assessments to inform Korsana’s portfolio strategy. This individual will conduct rigorous primary and secondary research, monitor competitive dynamics and market evolution in strategically relevant indications, and “bring the outside in” by translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for executive leadership, IR, R&D, and cross-functional program teams. The role requires strategic thinking, scientific fluency, strong technical communication and critical thinking skills, and hands-on experience with early-stage biotech programs in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Competitive Intelligence:

  • Maintain a view of evolving competitive landscape in relevant indications and assess strategic implications for Korsana
  • Monitor and interpret competitive developments in real-time; drive intelligence gathering efforts through primary and secondary research
  • Build and maintain best-in-class intelligence gathering and insights generation capabilities
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee end-to-end project execution
  • Lead competitive coverage and insights gathering at medical congresses

Portfolio Assessment / Corporate Strategy:

  • Provide core inputs into commercial and strategic assessments to support target selection, indication prioritization, and pipeline investment decisions
  • Partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure product development strategy is aligned with commercial stakeholder requirements
  • Proactively and reactively drive materials generation to support IR, BD, and corporate communications needs
  • Execute ad-hoc analyses/initiatives to inform Korsana strategy

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline; advanced degree (PhD, MS, MBA, etc.) a plus.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Direct experience providing strategic support for preclinical and early clinical development programs.
  • Track record of working successfully with cross-functional stakeholders, including Research, Program Leadership, Regulatory Affairs, Corporate Strategy, and Clinical Development.
  • Experience working with consultants, research vendors, or other external vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly develop expertise in new therapeutic areas and scientific concepts

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $210,000 - $230,000. This role may also be eligible for a target annual bonus and equity-based compensation, as well as participation in the company’s benefit programs. Actual compensation will depend on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to relevant years of experience, educational background, and geography.
