We are seeking a Survey Party Chief to lead field operations for a range of survey projects, including boundary, topographic, ALTA, and construction layout. This role is responsible for supervising and training crew members, ensuring quality and safety standards, and coordinating daily field activities. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills in survey equipment and GPS systems, along with the ability to interpret plans and build solid client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage projects involving all types of surveys (ALTA, boundary, topographic, as-built surveys, house location surveys, wallcheck surveys, etc.) and all aspects of construction layout
• Oversee work quality, training, and instruction of crew members
• Develop and maintain client relationships and market company brand and capabilities when the opportunity presents
• Participate in daily briefings/debriefings and ensure all tasks are being addressed in the field
• Understand and adhere to all safety guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge, Expertise

• Two (2) years of experience successfully leading a field crew
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record
• Experience interpreting blueprints, plats, maps, plans, deeds, legal documents, site plans, and field notes
• Experience with GPS applications including RTK and static control surveys,
• Knowledge of utility, infrastructure, and building construction as it is related to stakeout procedures and principles,
• Broad knowledge of modern survey devices and methods and proficiency with conventional optical and digital total stations. Knowledge and operation of Leica robots and Leica controllers preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and /or move 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to walk over uneven terrain and active construction sites.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to climb ladders or through uneven terrain and construction sites.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
