Liminal is the intelligence platform for the people building and buying the technology that keeps the digital economy safe. Our platform delivers AI-powered solutions that empower customers to assess, interpret, and respond to global market shifts, critical events, and regulatory developments.
We're a Series A company of about 70 people, with teams in New York, Salt Lake City, Porto, Lisbon, and Manila. We were recently named top 11% on the 2026 Inc. 5000 (No. 6 in Business Products & Services) — a good marker of the growth we've been in the middle of this year.
At this size, you don't wait years to get real responsibility. People here are running projects, owning relationships, and shaping how things get built much earlier than they would at a larger company, because the work is there and so is the trust to hand it to you. If you want to learn fast and see the direct impact of what you're doing, this is a good place to do that.
About the role
In this role, you take full responsibility for a workstream, guiding it from the initial question all the way to the final answer.
Moving up from Associate is less about doing more work and more about using your judgment. As an Associate, you focus on building the analysis while someone else interprets it. In this role, you decide what the analysis means, document your conclusions, and present them to the client.
You will begin managing Associates on your workstream, which is often the first real management experience for many. This change is more significant than it might seem, and we will support you through it.
Each engagement includes a senior executive sponsor and a practice leader, so you will gain early client exposure with strong support. From your first month, you will join working sessions, and there will always be a senior team member present who knows the account well.
What you'll do
What success looks like
In your first 30 days, you will become familiar with our platform and terminology, work on two active projects, and take responsibility for part of the solution on one of them.
By 90 days, you will manage entire workstreams, set the approach, guide Associates, and deliver your sections to the client with only a review from your Manager. Clients will begin coming to you directly with their questions.
By the end of your first year, you will have led workstreams in at least three types of engagements, run a client session independently, and identified at least one follow-up opportunity that turned into a real project. Inside the team, you will be known as someone who can handle tough, unclear problems.
What we're looking for
Nice to have
It is a plus if you have worked at MBB, LEK, Parthenon, Monitor Deloitte, a Big 4 strategy practice, or a strong boutique. Experience in M&A, corporate development, or investment analysis is also valuable. Prior work with identity, fraud, cybersecurity, or financial services is helpful. Experience mentoring junior consultants, having deep knowledge of a market, or building prompt chains or agent workflows that others have used are also advantages.
How we work
We work in a hybrid model: four days in the office, with Fridays optional. This is an in-person team because workshops, war games, and collaboration happen faster together. We’re in the office Monday through Thursday. Friday is flexible: work from home, the office, or a client site.
We have nine guiding principles. Four are especially important for this role: Operate Like an Owner, Be Brief, Be Bright, Be Gone, Solve, Don’t Just Spot, and Integrity Is Non-Negotiable. These aren’t just slogans; they guide our hiring, promotions, and feedback.
Compensation
The base salary ranges from $145,000 to $175,000, with a target bonus of 15% and equity. Full benefits are included.
