Staff Software Engineer - Full Stack - (React, Node)

The Role:

Linus Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on in the development of our web applications and platform. This role will serve as the technical lead for a distributed team of employees and contractors, driving architecture, engineering excellence, and delivery of customer-facing products that advance brain health.

The ideal candidate is a strong full-stack engineer with deep expertise in React and Node.js, experience building consumer-facing applications, and a proven track record leading complex technical initiatives across teams.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the technical design and delivery of strategic product initiatives.
  • Serve as technical lead for a distributed team of engineers and contractors.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable applications using React, Node.js, and TypeScript.
  • Responsibly leverage AI-assisted development tools and workflows to improve team productivity while ensuring code quality, maintainability, security, and reliability.
  • Partner with Product, Design, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
  • Take accountability for the full lifecycle of critical feature work, driving features from initial requirements to technical design, through production deployment and long term maintenance.
  • Mentor engineers and elevate technical excellence across the organization.

About You:

Must Have's:

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong experience building full-stack applications with React and Node.js.
  • Experience leading technical initiatives and influencing architecture across teams.
  • Proven ability to lead distributed engineering teams, including employees and contractors.
  • Experience building and scaling consumer-facing products.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
  • Ability to balance rapid delivery with long-term maintainability and technical excellence.
  • Bring a 'Masters of Our Craft' mindset, proactively applying the latest engineering practices to modernize our platform.

Nice To Have's:

  • Experience building and shipping React Native applications.
  • Experience in healthcare, digital health, or other regulated environments.
  • Experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures.

Compensation: The base salary budgeted for this position is in the $185-215,000 range per year. This position will also include a yearly target discretionary bonus as well as equity, health benefits, unlimited PTO, a monthly flex day, a 401K plan with a match and more. The final offer determined for the candidate who is hired into this position will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant skills, professional experience, labor market conditions, etc.
