RTOS SW Engineer

About the role

  • We are seeking an RTOS Software Engineer to design and implement the real-time firmware that gives our sensing and control systems their deterministic behavior. You will own scheduling, drivers, and middleware in a hard real-time environment.

What you'll do

  • Design, implement, and optimize real-time firmware on an RTOS
  • Develop task scheduling, IPC, synchronization, and deterministic real-time behavior
  • Implement device drivers and middleware within the RTOS environment
  • Tune for latency, jitter, and CPU/memory footprint
  • Port and configure the RTOS for new SoCs and boards
  • Debug real-time and concurrency issues (race conditions, priority inversion)
  • Collaborate with platform, DSP, and application teams

Required Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 5+ years embedded firmware development in C on RTOS-based systems
  • Deep understanding of real-time scheduling, concurrency, and synchronization
  • Experience with at least one RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX, or QNX) and Linux kernel driver development
  • Strong debugging skills with JTAG/SWD, trace, and lab instruments
  • Understanding of microcontroller/SoC architecture (memory, interrupts, DMA)

Preferred Qualifications

  • ARM Cortex-M/R experience
  • Low-latency, high-rate sensor data pipelines
  • Safety-critical or functional-safety (ISO 26262) firmware experience
  • Multi-core AMP/SMP RTOS configurations
  • Robotics or autonomous systems background

Benefits (subject to location and local regulations)

  • Competitive salary and equity
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
