Position Summary: 

MDpanel is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This role is responsible for supporting the organization's accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and delivering timely financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the month-end close process, financial analysis, account reconciliations, audit support, and continuous process improvement initiatives. 


Reporting to the Controller, this individual will collaborate across departments to support financial workflows, maintain compliance with accounting standards, and contribute to the successful integration of newly acquired entities in a dynamic, private equity-backed environment. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, systems-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced setting.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

Financial Reporting & General Accounting 

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.  
  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.  
  • Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP and company policies.  
  • Analyze financial data and account activity to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.  
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. 

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis 

  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process through data gathering, analysis, and reporting.  
  • Perform variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.  
  • Partner with department leaders to understand business drivers and support financial decision-making.  
  • Assist in developing reporting tools and metrics that improve visibility into business performance.  

Systems & Process Improvement 

  • Utilize NetSuite to manage accounting operations, financial reporting, and data integrity.  
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls.  
  • Participate in system enhancements, implementations, and optimization initiatives.  
  • Support process standardization and scalability as the organization continues to grow. 

Audit, Compliance & Controls 

  • Support internal and external audit activities by preparing documentation, schedules, and responding to audit inquiries.  
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.  
  • Assist in maintaining effective internal controls and identifying areas for risk mitigation.  
  • Support documentation of accounting procedures and financial processes.  

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with operational, case management, and leadership teams to support financial workflows and reporting needs.  
  • Assist with accounting and financial integration activities related to acquisitions and organizational growth initiatives.  
  • Serve as a trusted resource for financial information and accounting guidance across the organization.

Qualifications and Preferred Skills: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.  
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience.  
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting.  
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite is required.  
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.  
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.  
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.  
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have:

  • CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA designation.  
  • Experience within healthcare, medical-legal, or professional services organizations.  
  • Experience supporting process improvement initiatives and system implementations.  
  • Experience integrating newly acquired entities within a private equity-backed environment.  
  • Familiarity with multi-entity accounting and financial consolidation processes.

The salary range for this position is provided as an estimate based on current market conditions and company benchmarks.
