About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our dynamic and diverse team. In this key role, you will contribute to the design and evolution of our cloud-native tech platform with a clear objective: delivering a seamless, high-performance digital mortgage experience to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and evolve nesto's backend platform to support our growth.
• Collaborate closely with Frontend and Data teams to build and integrate robust data services.
• Write clean, modular, testable, and maintainable code following industry best practices (Clean Code).
• Apply full-spectrum technical expertise across architecture design, coding, automated testing, and debugging.
• Analyze and resolve complex or intermittent bugs while actively participating in validating new features.
• Promote continuous improvement by staying current with emerging technologies to enhance the existing architecture.

What We Are Looking For

• Education: Bachelor's degree or university diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
• Experience: At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with at least one of the following languages: Go, Python, Node.js, or C#.
• Product Mindset: Passion for building user-centric products that deliver tangible value.
• Teamwork & Knowledge Sharing: Constant desire to learn, collaborate with peers, and foster team growth in an inclusive, collaborative environment.
• Communication: Excellent ability to break down complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders (both technical and business).
• Rigor & Big-Picture Thinking: Attention to detail, technical rigor, and the ability to approach software design with a long-term perspective (Systems Thinking).

Language Requirements

• Fluent English (Required): Ability to collaborate daily with our nationwide teams (outside Quebec).
• Bilingualism (French/English): Asset.
