The Director of Accounting will oversee the accounting department of a growing technology company with multiple business units and an aggressive business model. The candidate will oversee a team and will provide best practice leadership in all financial areas.
The ideal candidate will have experience with building scalable infrastructure to accommodate company growth and a history of leading the buy-side M&A process.


Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and organize the annual business planning and budget.
  • Provide timely financial statements and reports to senior management and upon request from business unit leaders.
  • Enhance, develop, and implement policies and procedures for core finance functions promoting internal controls.
  • Mentor managers and staff to perform their work tasks with optimal efficiencies and in a collaborative manner.
  • Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction.
  • Provide technical guidance and advice to others within the organization on financial matters.
  • Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and a foreign operation.
  • Manage the Company’s treasury and prepare cash projections that guide the overall cash planning and financing of business cycles.
  • Prepare financial reporting formats and information that enables senior management to understand business trends and highlight operating strengths and weaknesses.
  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile.
  • Participate in the development of the company’s financial plans and programs as a strategic partner.
  • Lead the pre-acquisition planning, documentation, and overall process with target acquisitions.
  • Manage the integration of acquired companies within the finance function leveraging synergies for accretive operational efficiencies.
  • Optimize the trade credit provided by key vendors of the Company.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new business lines, and achievement of competitive advantage.
  • Optimize bank relationships with favorable terms for credit facilities and banking transactions.
  • Advise and guide sales management and procurement managers on establishing favorable financial terms with customers and vendors on large transactions.
  • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage.
  • Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
  • Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, and/or Business Administration. Masters preferred.
  • CPA required.
  • 10-15 years of Financial, Accounting and Administrative leadership experience, most recently as a Director or VP for a small to mid-sized company (Professional Services, Software, Technology, or similar industry preferred).
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct is required
  • ASC 606 revenue recognition a big plus.
  • Experience operating in a transformative leadership role and scaling as organization over $100M in revenue
  • Possess excellent and demonstrated strategic financial planning and analysis abilities, extensive and current knowledge of leading-edge principles and practices associated with accounting and finance.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis Services- in addition to budgeting, lead the FP&A function for all business units providing relevant financial metrics for growth and profitability include pipeline.
  • Expertise tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property, and other applicable taxes
  • Prior operations experience helpful.
  • Outstanding communication skills are essential.
  • Candidate should be self-assured and able to 'work and play' well with others and work side by side with a dynamic, fast moving creative leader.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $170,000 to $185,000.

This position is also eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan.
