Delivery Assurance Analyst

About Noviam Inc.

Delivery Assurance Analyst

Talent as a Service™  ·  Early-Career Professional Track

City of London   |   Full-Time   |   Office-Based   |   2–5 Years' Experience

You've worked in a PMO. Now own the review that decides whether a programme is fit to proceed.

This is an independent assurance role inside the Central Programme Management Office of a global banking and securities group. The function provides objective oversight of change and technology delivery across the region, reporting into executive committees including the regional delivery forum and the investment portfolio committee.

It suits someone two to five years into a career in PMO, change delivery, project governance or audit who wants to stop administering someone else's process and start owning one. You will run end-of-phase reviews in your own right, own the lifecycle waiver process, coach project managers, and put your findings in front of senior management.

The role

The Delivery Assurance Analyst provides independent oversight and assurance across the group's securities and bank projects, making sure initiatives are delivered in line with governance standards. The role is a safeguard for project success: objective insight, early identification of risk, and continuous improvement across the project lifecycle.

You will work across every department that delivers projects, not only the Change team — building the kind of relationships that get the governance framework followed willingly, at the lowest possible overhead to the project.

The principle: a project that passes our assurance review should go on to pass scrutiny from operational risk, internal audit and group — first time. Everything you do should move projects towards that outcome.

Minimum requirements

These are hard requirements. We review every application that meets them.

Experience

Two to five years in project or programme assurance, PMO, project governance, change delivery or internal audit. Proven experience of assurance or governance review is essential.

Certification

Formal project management training required. PRINCE2 Foundation or Practitioner, APM PFQ or PMQ, PMI, or equivalent.

Methodology

Strong working knowledge of delivery methodologies — waterfall, Agile and assurance frameworks — including RAID log management, project financials and resource management.

Excel

Intermediate standard. You can extract and manipulate large data sets and build management dashboards from multiple source reports.

Tooling

Intermediate MS Office — PowerPoint, Word, Visio — and SharePoint.

Stakeholders

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication. A demonstrable record of dealing professionally with senior management.

Education

A minimum of a 2:1 bachelor's degree (or equivalent).

Eligibility

The right to work in the UK. This role is office-based in the City of London.

Preferred, not essential

  • Experience in financial services, ideally investment banking or securities
  • Planview and Power BI, or an equivalent planning and reporting toolset
  • Experience supporting waterfall, Agile and hybrid ‘PRINCE2 Agile’ delivery, and the judgement to balance structured reporting against agile delivery
  • Exposure to second-line functions: operational risk, internal audit or compliance

Key responsibilities

Assurance process ownership

  • Assure individual projects through end-of-phase review against the change management governance framework, and track remediation actions through to completion.
  • Own the lifecycle waiver review process. Make sure waiver decisions are recorded, communicated to the teams affected, and reflected in the planning tool.
  • Work closely with in-line PMOs so that end-of-phase reviews and other assurance requirements are completed within framework tolerances.
  • Escalate issues to programme committees with a clear, evidenced position and a recommended next step.

Reporting

  • Report delivery assurance to programme committees and PMOs, and contribute assurance updates to PMO and Change executive reporting.
  • Maintain accurate dashboard reporting on project adherence for Change Management senior management.

Coaching, training and SME support

  • Coach project managers and give them compelling, practical next steps to clear blockers to assurance approval — motivation, not just a red flag.
  • Identify and arrange training for individuals presenting at delivery assurance forums, and support change induction training.
  • Recommend reusable good practice. Point teams to strong documentation from comparable projects addressing similar business drivers.
  • Facilitate lessons learned and apply feedback from live delivery, including project closure reports, to improve the delivery lifecycle and the key deliverable templates.

Personal requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills, able to partner with Change, Technology and the business
  • A demonstrable record of managing multiple stakeholders and dealing professionally with senior management
  • A strategic mindset; able to hold the big picture and the practical impact at the same time
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to build a network inside and outside the firm
  • Proactive and results-driven, with a strong sense of accountability and the ability to operate with urgency
  • A calm approach that holds up in a pressurised environment
  • Attention to detail — thoroughness in reviews and documentation is the job, not a nice-to-have

What's in it for you

  • Executive-committee visibility
  • Sponsored progression towards PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ and Agile certifications
  • Competitive annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Pension scheme and private medical cover
  • Mentoring from Noviam alongside your client-side line management
  • A route into senior assurance, programme management or second-line risk

This role is not a fit if…

  • You want to work remotely. This role is office-based in the City of London.
  • You want to deliver projects rather than review them. This is independent assurance.
  • You have no formal project management certification and are not willing to obtain one.
  • Detailed documentation review isn't work you enjoy.
