About the role


The Warehouse Manager oversees daily inbound warehouse operations, specifically focusing on the efficient receiving of sea/freight containers, putaway processes, stock replenishment, and inventory organization. Leading a direct team of 6 warehouse associates, this role ensures safe, accurate, and timely handling of incoming goods, maintains high standards of inventory integrity, and optimizes workflow efficiency across all receiving and storage areas.


Salary Range: $55k - $75k Based on experience

Full time 40 hours on site in Norwood, NJ


What you'll do

1. Container Receiving & Inbound Logistics

  • Schedule, coordinate, and supervise the unloading of incoming shipping containers and freight trailers.
  • Inspect inbound shipments for damage, correct piece counts, proper labeling, and adherence to purchase orders.
  • Ensure accurate entry of inbound shipments into Shiphawk -Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Responsible for managing, tracking, and auditing department-related inventory transfers across 3PL facilities. 

2. Putaway & Replenishment Operations

  • Establish and oversee systematic put away workflows to ensure goods are staged and moved to primary Bin/storage locations promptly.
  • Manage the stock replenishment process to ensure pick locations remain full and order fulfillment runs without interruption.
  • Optimize storage slotting based on product velocity, dimensions, and turnover rates.
  • Perform routine audits of bin locations and storage bays to verify inventory accuracy.

3. Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Directly manage, train, and mentor a team of 6 warehouse employees.
  • Assign daily task allocations, track work performance, and conduct regular team stand-ups and performance reviews.
  • Enforce strict safety protocols, OSHA compliance, and proper equipment usage (forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks).
  • Foster a cooperative, high-performing team environment focused on continuous improvement and safety.

4. Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement

  • Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for receiving, unloading, staging, putaway, and replenishment.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe aisle spaces and dock areas.
  • Collaborate with Supply and Demand Department, Quality Control, and Inventory Management teams regarding discrepancies or vendor compliance issues.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3–5 years of warehouse operational experience
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP software, and barcode scanning systems.
  • Equipment Certification: Certified operator for forklifts, reach trucks, and power pallet jacks (or ability to certify staff).
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, operate material handling equipment, and stand/walk for extended shifts.
  • Language: Preferred proficient in English and Spanish to effectively communicate across all shift teams and department leads 
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required
