Role Summary:

Overland AI is seeking a Field Marketing Manager to join our Communications & Marketing (C&M) team. This is a new function at the company, and the person who fills it will build the field marketing motion from the ground up.

The mandate is end-to-end ownership of Overland's external event presence and field marketing programs, including trade shows, conferences, hosted engagements, and private demonstrations. This role sits at the intersection of communications, business development, and operations, and is critical to ensuring that every event is tightly aligned to specific end-user personas, pipeline objectives, and business outcomes.

Beyond execution, this role requires building the operational infrastructure, internal coordination cadences, and performance tracking needed to scale Overland's event strategy as the company grows. You will work closely with the Business Development team to support the go-to-market motion, facilitate lead capture and follow-through, and ensure field marketing contributes measurably to pipeline.

This is a highly cross-functional role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, values precision, and is comfortable turning logistics, data, and strategy into measurable outcomes. This role reports directly to the Head of Communications and Marketing.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Strategy, Planning, and Execution

  • Own end-to-end planning and execution for external trade shows, conferences, and industry events, from early concept development through on-site delivery and post-event follow-up
  • Manage all event logistics with precision: timelines, budgets, travel, shipping, booth assets, and vendor coordination (including booth installation, teardown, and on-site operations) across events of varying scale and complexity.
  • Lead vendor management across conference organizers, booth vendors, venues, A/V partners, and merchandise suppliers.
  • Develop event plans tailored to specific end-user personas, in close partnership with Business Development and Communications & Marketing leadership.
  • Build and maintain repeatable playbooks for Overland's most important recurring events, while adapting execution to the unique constraints of each venue and audience.

Sales Enablement and Business Development Support.

  • Serve as an active presence on the show floor, engaging prospects, qualifying interest, and supporting the Business Development team in high-value conversations.
  • Partner with Business Development to define event-specific goals, align on priority targets, and ensure field marketing programs directly support pipeline creation and go-to-market objectives.
  • Coordinate pre-event outreach, on-site meeting scheduling, and post-event follow-up to ensure leads are captured, qualified, and handed off efficiently.
  • Prepare event-specific materials that support sales conversations, including one-pagers, demo briefs, and leave-behinds tailored to target audiences.

 Internal Events and Hosted Engagements

  • Plan and execute internal and hosted events, including partner meetings, investor briefings, demonstrations for demand generation, and media engagements.
  • Coordinate logistics for site visits, private demos, and small-format events hosted by Overland, ensuring a polished and professional experience.
  • Partner across Overland teams to align agendas, talking points, and follow-up materials.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Serve as the central point of coordination across internal teams for all event-related initiatives.
  • Translate high-level objectives into executable plans and clearly communicate roles, timelines, and expectations across teams.
  • Anticipate risks and dependencies and proactively resolve issues before they impact execution.

Marketing Operations and Performance Measurement

  • Track event-related marketing data and performance metrics, including lead generation, pipeline influence, meeting outcomes, and qualitative feedback.
  • Partner with Business Development to define success metrics for each event and ensure consistent data capture using CRM and lead-tracking tools
  • Build clear post-event reporting that communicates ROI, insights, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable systems, processes, and tooling for event tracking and marketing operations.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in marketing operations, field marketing, events, or a related role, with a strong preference for experience in defense, aerospace, or government sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience owning complex trade shows or large-scale events from planning through post-event follow-through.
  • Strong operational mindset with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Experience working closely with Business Development and Sales teams to support customer-facing initiatives.
  • Comfort engaging prospects in person and supporting sales conversations.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, lead capture workflows, and marketing analytics tools.
    • Comfort working with data, metrics, and reporting to evaluate marketing effectiveness and communicate results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • High attention to detail and a bias toward execution, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Experience supporting government, defense, or highly regulated industry events.
  • Experience developing repeatable event playbooks and operational frameworks in a fast-growing organization.
