Lot Attendant

We are seeking a dependable, professional, and customer-focused Lot Attendant to join our team immediately! This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, maintains a high level of organization, and can confidently handle challenging customer interactions in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, and emotionally composed when dealing with frustrated or angry customers. This role requires someone who can remain calm under pressure, communicate respectfully, de-escalate difficult situations, and enforce company policies and procedures without compromising customer service or safety.

The successful candidate will oversee the receipt, processing, storage, and release of repossessed vehicles and personal items while maintaining a clean, organized, and professional lot and customer service area.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all company safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Receive vehicles from Recovery Agents and third-party vendors.
  • Inspect and clean out vehicles upon arrival, ensuring all personal property is properly bagged, labeled, and secured.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of vehicles, personal property, and lot equipment.
  • Assist customers with vehicle releases by verifying identification, confirming authorization, and ensuring all required paperwork is complete.
  • Interact professionally with customers who may be upset or frustrated regarding the repossession or release of their vehicles/personal items.
  • De-escalate difficult situations through calm communication, sound judgment, and professionalism while maintaining firm boundaries and following company procedures.
  • Recognize when a situation requires management involvement and promptly escalate threats, disputes, or situations that cannot be safely resolved.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure vehicle lot and customer service area.
  • Communicate effectively with Recovery Agents, management, coworkers, and customers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and excellent attendance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to remain calm, respectful, and professional when dealing with confrontational customers.
  • Excellent verbal communication, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to enforce company policies and procedures while maintaining professionalism and discretion.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to recognize when to resolve an issue independently and when to involve management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following directions and communicating effectively with the team.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Must be at least 22 years old for insurance purposes.
  • Basic proficiency with smartphones and tablets, including troubleshooting minor connectivity issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, stay organized, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.
  • Forklift experience preferred but not required.
