The Role: Quality Specialist

As a Quality Specialist, you will help ensure the quality of our products by supporting a shift-left approach to development, while actively leveraging AI to multiply your impact. You will work closely with Dev and Product to apply quality engineering practices across the full development cycle: planning, test design, automation, and production monitoring. You are expected to use AI tools as a core part of your daily workflow, for generating and evaluating test cases, accelerating automation development, exploring edge cases, and analyzing quality signals, not as an occasional convenience.

You bring both strong QA/QE fundamentals and agentic, AI-forward skills that make you significantly more effective than a traditional QA engineer. 

Responsibilities

• Quality Engineering Support:
• • Apply and follow quality engineering practices throughout the development cycle.
  • Support the maturation of the Product in alignment with other Product line developments in the R&D group.
• Testing Approach Execution:
• • Design and execute effective and efficient test cases, ensuring strong coverage throughout product development.
  • Collaborate with Product and Dev to support quality strategy and sprint-level planning.
• Automation Contribution:
• • Build and maintain test automation scripts across relevant layers of the development cycle.
  • Contribute to the implementation and adoption of a BDD development model.
• Real-world Usage Testing:
• • Explore and test real-world usage scenarios of the product to identify quality risks during POC and development.
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of the QA automation framework integrated into a CI/CD model.
• Quality Control Support:
• • Support quality control activities for software deliverables, up to and including client handover.
  • Promote quality assurance standards, culture, and best practices within the team.
• Documentation:
• • Maintain accurate documentation of quality assurance artifacts.
• Team Collaboration:
• • Serve as an active QA contributor at the squad level.
  • Participate in regular sync-ups with the team and share knowledge with peers.

AI & Agentic System Testing

• Build test harnesses for LLM-backed and agentic features — prompts, chains, tool-use, multi-agent flows
• Define and implement AI-specific quality signals: hallucination rate, instruction fidelity, context leakage, output consistency
• Design exploratory AI agents and LLM-as-judge patterns to scale coverage beyond what scripted suites can reach
• Test non-deterministic systems deliberately: statistical assertions, behavioral envelopes, adversarial inputs

Agentic Test Orchestration 

• Build and operate AI-powered test planning and orchestration workflows — use agents to explore product surfaces, generate test conditions, and prioritize risk dynamically 
• Design LLM-as-judge patterns and autonomous exploratory agents to scale coverage beyond scripted suites 
• Partner with Dev to define quality gates in CI/CD — you set the coverage contracts; Dev implements the automation 
• Drive test observability: coverage trends, flake rates, regression velocity, release readiness signals

Additional Tasks

• Participate in all relevant sprint rituals.
• Maintain test suites and relevant documentation for the Product.
• Provide regular metrics on quality for sprints and overall Product.
• Report defects/bugs found during sprints and contribute to sprint retro discussions for analysis and improvement.

Required Skills

Please note: Q4 rigorously distinguishes between "Years of Experience" (time served) and "Level of Expertise" (actual mastery). We evaluate candidates based on their proven execution capability, not just their tenure.

• 5+ years in quality assurance for software development.
• Good understanding of Agile development and CI/CD.
• Working knowledge of bug tracking and test case management tools (JIRA, TestRail).
• Solid grounding in Quality Assurance & Quality Engineering practices.
• Experience implementing automated testing in an Agile environment.
• Familiarity with automation tools for testing (Java/Python/JS/Selenium WebDriver).
• Comfortable working in a SCRUM and Kanban approach.
• Strong communication skills.

• *Please note: This is a hybrid position. A minimum of 2 days per week in office is required at our Pune location.
