Position Summary
The Senior IT Specialist is R3 Lithium's senior hands-on technical resource, supporting reliable,
secure technology across the organization. This role resolves complex support issues, administers
Microsoft 365 and endpoint systems, supports networking and cybersecurity, and delivers
assigned IT projects. The position works independently while coordinating priorities and changes
with IT leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• End-user support: Own escalated hardware, software, account, and connectivity issues through
resolution. Support employees and executives, maintain ticket records, and document
repeatable solutions.
• Employee lifecycle and assets: Coordinate onboarding and offboarding, account access,
licensing, device setup, equipment recovery, inventory, and secure device retirement.
• Microsoft 365 and identity: Administer Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and
OneDrive. Maintain users, groups, permissions, licensing, MFA, and Conditional Access under IT
leadership guidance.
• Endpoint management: Deploy and maintain Windows computers and mobile devices using
Intune and remote-management tools. Manage standard configurations, patching, encryption,
compliance, and technology refresh activities.
• Cybersecurity: Support Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Plan 2 and related security tools.
Investigate alerts, assist with incident response, remediate vulnerabilities, review access, and
reinforce phishing prevention and security awareness.
• Networking and infrastructure: Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, DHCP, VLANs,
switches, firewalls, and access points. Support Meraki equipment, Cisco Secure Client, cabling,
and vendor escalations.
• Systems and projects: Support business applications, Microsoft Power Platform solutions,
migrations, and infrastructure upgrades. Test changes before deployment and assist with
backup, recovery, and business continuity activities.
• Documentation and improvement: Maintain procedures, network diagrams, asset and licensing
records, and configuration documentation. Automate recurring tasks and recommend
reliability, security, and service improvements.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of professional IT experience, including 3+ years in advanced desktop, systems, or
infrastructure support.
• Strong Windows administration and Microsoft 365 experience, including Entra ID, Exchange
Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
• Experience deploying and supporting computers, mobile devices, peripherals, and enterprise
applications.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi, and network troubleshooting.
• Understanding of endpoint security, identity protection, access controls, patching, and
cybersecurity practices.
• Experience with IT ticketing, remote-management tools, technical documentation, and asset
management.
• Ability to independently resolve complex issues, prioritize competing needs, and communicate
clearly with technical and non-technical employees.
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Defender for Endpoint, Defender XDR, Conditional
Access, and Microsoft 365 backup solutions.
• Experience with Meraki networking, Cisco Secure Client, Atera or similar RMM platforms, mobile
device management, and cybersecurity incident response.
• Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint solutions, automation, or network
infrastructure deployment.
• Relevant Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, or cybersecurity certifications, such as Security+,
Network+, CCNA, or Microsoft endpoint/security certifications.
Working Conditions
Provide onsite support and travel between R3 Lithium locations as needed. Occasional after-hours
work may be required for critical incidents, maintenance, or deployments. Responsibilities include
transporting IT equipment and performing workstation and network equipment installations.
Role Expectations
Take ownership of technical work from investigation through resolution, maintain strong
customer service and documentation, and keep IT leadership informed of risks and progress. IT
leadership retains responsibility for the IT budget, cybersecurity strategy, vendor strategy, and
overall technology roadmap.
