Position Overview

As a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer, you will play a critical role in scaling and operating our cloud-native platforms. You’ll own the reliability, security, and performance of our AWS-based infrastructure, enabling fast, stable service delivery across the organization. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives at the intersection of cloud engineering, automation, and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and evolve AWS-based infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and security
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to standardize and automate environments
• Build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable deployments
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and lead root cause resolution
• Integrate security best practices (DevSecOps) into the development and deployment lifecycle
• Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Data, and Customer teams to support platform stability
• Drive continuous improvement through automation, observability, and operational best practices

Required Experience & Qualifications 

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (non-negotiable)
• Experience in cloud operations, DevOps, SRE, or similar roles
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, Bash, or similar)
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems and production issues
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certifications
• Experience with containerization (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, OpenSearch)
• Experience with DevSecOps practices and security tooling
• Exposure to multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP)
• Experience in SaaS, energy, or data-driven platforms

Details

• Location: Boston, MA
• Our organization works on a hybrid model. We are in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at our downtown Boston building, and remote work is optional on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Compensation and Benefits

• The base compensation range for this position is $125,000 to $135,600. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This range does not include annual bonus, equity-based incentives, and benefits.
