iOS Engineer II

About Reverb

Reverb is the largest online marketplace dedicated to buying and selling new, used, and vintage musical instruments. Since launching in 2013, Reverb has grown into a vibrant community of buyers and sellers all over the world. By focusing on inspiring content, price transparency, musician-focused e-commerce tools, a music-savvy customer service team, and more, Reverb has created an online destination where the global music community can connect over the perfect piece of music gear.

We love working at Reverb because we’re making the world more musical—through our marketplace and through Reverb Gives, which provides musical instruments to youth music education programs. We were named a “Best Place to Work” by Built in Chicago and a “Top Workplace'' by the Chicago Tribune.

About the role

Our teams are highly collaborative and empowered to make a better experience for our customers. We rely on our ability to work as a team and incorporate different perspectives in order to ship meaningful and impactful software to our users. The team builds experiences that inspire users with gear they'll love and keep them coming back. We are a collaborative, inclusive team of designers, backend, frontend, and native mobile engineers with all the skills necessary to build & ship.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Chicago, IL. Local employees meet weekly on Tuesday at our Salt Shed office, and we all come together for quarterly org onsites and our yearly Reverbfest.

Responsibilities

  • As an iOS engineer, you will be responsible for pushing our codebase forward, shipping quickly and safely, and helping us on our most impactful projects.
  • You’ll be working on both building great features for our users and the underlying platform.
  • Our app is 90% Swift and we are investing heavily in SwiftUI. We ship weekly and invest in testing & automation to enable that. To build with confidence, we extensively use remote configuration, feature flags, and declarative, server-driven APIs.
  • We use a lot of concurrency; hopefully you like or are interested in that!
  • We own our pipeline and release management

Requirements

  • At Reverb, you'll be more than an engineer; you'll be a product owner who works with partners to identify the right tradeoffs and build what our users need.
  • We ask that candidates express interest in Reverb's mission, prepare to work on a collaborative team, and adopt a growth mentality. We also ask that you have at least 2 to 3 years of iOS experience, outside of learning environments, working on backend-dependent apps.

Additional Information

Remote-eligible roles (as indicated in the location header of each job description) are available in all U.S. states except Alaska and Hawaii. Remote roles are currently only available within the U.S. unless otherwise specified in the specific job description.

Reverb offers a comprehensive total rewards package that combines base, bonus, and an array of benefits. Some of our key benefits include but are not limited to the following:

  • Life, AD&D, and supplemental long-and short-term disability insurance
  • A matching 401(k)
  • A generous PTO policy that includes vacation, sick/mental health days plus 11 paid holidays and two floating holidays
  • Professional development and continued learning opportunities through access to mentoring, 1:1 coaching, and platforms like Skillsoft
