About the Role

RNWBL is seeking an experienced Wind Turbine Technician II to join our site operations team in Canada. This is a site-based position responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of utility-scale wind turbines.

As a Wind Turbine Technician II, you will play a critical role in maximizing turbine availability, reliability, and performance while ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently. This position is ideal for technicians with prior wind industry experience who are looking to continue developing their technical expertise and build a long-term career in renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbines.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance activities in accordance with OEM and site requirements.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control system issues.
  • Perform repairs, component replacements, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Utilize technical drawings, schematics, service manuals, and diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults.
  • Monitor turbine performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and availability.
  • Complete maintenance records, service reports, and work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain compliance with all company, client, and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Participate in site safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians and site leadership to minimize downtime and support operational goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and ensure proper care of company tools and equipment.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year of wind turbine maintenance experience or related industrial maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service manuals.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Technical, trade school, military, or vocational training.
  • Previous experience working on utility-scale wind turbines.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems and turbine monitoring platforms.
  • Current GWO certifications.
  • Experience on GE, Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, Nordex, or other utility-scale wind turbine platforms.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to climb wind turbines and work at heights exceeding 300 feet.
  • Ability to safely ascend and descend ladders multiple times per day.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in varying weather and environmental conditions.
  • Ability to perform work in confined spaces and elevated work areas.
  • Ability to meet all site-specific safety and fitness-for-duty requirements.
