About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Summer Intern to support the development and organization of a new SharePoint site for a growing department. This role will focus on improving document management practices, creating standardized structures, and partnering with internal stakeholders to implement a user-friendly and scalable solution.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Assist in the design and development of a new SharePoint site to support departmental needs

·       Develop and document a standardized naming convention for files and folders

·       Audit existing documents and systematically rename and organize them according to the new standards

·       Collaborate with team members to understand document usage and organizational requirements

·       Partner with IT to implement SharePoint features, workflows, permissions, and functionality

·       Test site usability and provide recommendations for improvements

·       Create user guides and documentation to support long-term adoption and sustainability

·       Support data clean-up and ensure consistency across document libraries

 

And all other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

·       Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Information Systems, IT, or a related field

·       Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

·       Ability to manage and execute structured, process-driven work

·       Excellent communication and collaboration skills

·       Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SharePoint is a plus

·       Ability to work independently and take initiative on assigned projects

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Basic understanding of document management or information architecture
  • Experience working with file structures, naming conventions, or data organization
  • Interest in process improvement and systems implementation
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and detail-oriented.
  • A continuous improvement mindset.

Additional Requirements:

  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
  • Able to work overtime and travel as needed for work or training.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.
