Associate SEO Lead (Remote)

About Rocket Clicks

At Rocket Clicks, we help Family Law Firms grow through focused, performance-driven digital marketing.

We are not a generalist agency. We are building the definitive growth partner for family law firms by combining deep marketing expertise, real law firm operating experience, and a disciplined approach to execution.

Our team thrives on solving hard problems, improving client performance, and building trusted long-term relationships. We care about results, and we also care about how the work gets done.

Our culture is rooted in six core values:

  • Proactive – We anticipate opportunities and act before problems arise.
  • Disciplined – We remain focused and committed to excellence.
  • Candid – We communicate clearly and directly.
  • Empathetic – We understand and respect the perspectives of others.
  • Accountable – We take ownership of results, good or bad.
  • Results-Oriented – We focus on outcomes, not busyness.

If these values resonate with you, you’ll feel right at home at Rocket Clicks!

The Ideal Candidate

You are a well-rounded SEO who can handle every part of the discipline, with particular strength in technical SEO and AI-assisted execution. You can run audits across on-page, content, internal linking, and local SEO, but the work that comes most naturally to you is the technical layer: crawl behavior, indexation, HTML structure, schema, and site architecture.

You work independently. When a ranking drops, an indexation issue surfaces, or a site behaves in a way no one can explain, you investigate it, find the root cause, and put together a fix. You read source code when you need to. You inspect crawl data and check rendered output. You do not need a checklist to know where to start.

You are also fluent with modern AI tools. You use them every day, and you build workflows, prompts, and custom skills that other people on the team can run. You know where AI accelerates the work and where it produces output that is not usable.

You can execute, review other people's work, and mentor SEO Specialists. This role is technical and operational. Strategy is owned by the Director of SEO.

If you want to do strong, well-rounded SEO with technical depth and AI fluency at the center of it, this is a fit.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate SEO Lead is the senior execution and quality role on the Rocket Clicks SEO team.

Reporting to the Director of SEO, this role is responsible for SEO execution across all assigned client accounts, with particular ownership of technical SEO, crawl and indexation analysis, HTML and site structure review, AI workflow development, quality control of deliverables, and direct mentorship of SEO Specialists.

This is a step above the SEO Specialist role. The Associate SEO Lead is responsible for making sure the work is correct across every layer of SEO, that technical implementation is clean, that deliverables are accurate, and that the team's AI-assisted processes improve over time.

Required: Proficiency across all aspects of SEO, advanced technical SEO expertise, fluency with AI tools and AI workflow design, and the ability to diagnose problems independently.

Key Responsibilities & Objectives

  • Technical SEO Execution
    • Conduct advanced technical audits across crawlability, indexation, rendering, site architecture, internal linking, schema, page speed, redirects, canonicalization, hreflang, and core site health.
    • Review and refine HTML semantics across client sites, including heading hierarchy, semantic tag usage, structured data implementation, accessibility-aware markup, and on-page elements that influence ranking and parsing.
    • Diagnose ranking declines, indexation drops, traffic anomalies, render issues, and crawl inefficiencies. Trace symptoms to root cause.
    • Lead crawl analysis using Screaming Frog, log file review, rendered DOM inspection, and equivalent tools. Identify crawl traps, orphaned pages, parameter bloat, redirect chains, and wasted crawl budget.
    • Own local SEO technical execution, including Google Business Profile optimization, location page structure, citation hygiene, review surfacing, proximity-related signals, and technical implementation of local schema.
    • Translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for developers, designers, content writers, and account teams.
    • Review the implementation of SEO recommendations end-to-end. Verify that what shipped matches what was specified.
    • Stay current on algorithm updates, AI search surfaces, rendering behavior changes, structured data evolution, and emerging technical SEO standards.
  • Content Development & Structure
    • Direct content production by writing briefs and outlines that specify search intent, target keywords, primary entities, supporting subtopics, required sections, and internal linking targets.
    • Structure on-page content using proper semantic HTML, heading hierarchy, and content flow that reinforces topical relevance and supports both readers and search engines.
    • Map content into the right place in site architecture, including hub-and-spoke relationships, cluster pages, and supporting articles, so each piece earns its placement.
    • Build internal linking patterns that pass authority where it is needed, connect related entities, and reinforce topical clusters.
    • Review and optimize existing content for search intent alignment, semantic depth, structural improvements, and internal linking opportunities.
    • Identify content gaps based on keyword coverage, search intent, competitor presence, and topical authority needs.
    • Surface and elevate underperforming or buried content that should be restructured, repurposed, or linked to from higher-authority pages.
    • Review content before publish for SEO alignment, structural soundness, on-page optimization, and adherence to internal linking standards.
    • Partner with content writers and editors to ensure published work matches the brief, the search intent, and the site architecture it lives within.
  • AI Workflow Development & Process Engineering
    • Design, build, and refine AI-assisted workflows that accelerate SEO research, audit production, content review, technical analysis, reporting, and documentation.
    • Develop reusable AI prompts, skills, and standard operating procedures that the SEO team can run repeatedly with consistent quality.
    • Identify high-friction, high-volume tasks across the SEO discipline and replace manual repetition with reliable AI execution paths.
    • Test new AI tools, model versions, and integrations. Validate output quality before rolling anything out to the broader team.
    • Document AI workflows so they are transferable, auditable, and improvable by anyone on the team.
    • Use AI to accelerate work without producing unreviewed or generic output. Maintain human review on anything client-facing.
  • Performance Diagnosis & Reporting
    • Monitor organic KPIs across assigned accounts, including visibility, rankings, traffic, leads, conversion rate, and local search performance.
    • Diagnose what is changing and why. Pull the technical, on-page, link, and crawl signals that explain the movement.
    • Identify patterns across accounts and surface technical or executional fixes that can be rolled out broadly.
    • Conduct competitive technical and on-page analysis to understand what is structurally different between winning and losing pages in a given market.
    • Improve the clarity of SEO reporting so both clients and internal teams understand what changed, why it changed, and what action is being taken.
  • Quality Control & Team Support
    • Review SEO deliverables for technical accuracy, structural soundness, implementation quality, and client readiness.
    • Mentor SEO Specialists on technical execution, crawl analysis, problem diagnosis, AI tool use, and clear communication.
    • Help define sprint priorities at the execution level by estimating effort, identifying dependencies, and flagging technical risk.
    • Serve as the technical escalation point for complex SEO issues across the team.
    • Contribute to documentation, templates, checklists, QA processes, AI workflow libraries, and internal training resources.
  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Execution
    • Work closely with Account Managers to ensure technical findings and execution outcomes are translated cleanly to clients.
    • Partner with content teams to ensure on-page and technical implementation supports the content and the search environment it lives in.
    • Collaborate with designers and developers to verify that SEO recommendations are scoped, implemented, and QA'd correctly.
    • Participate in internal discussions and contribute technical insight from client accounts.
    • Strengthen the feedback loop between execution, QA, reporting, and client-facing communication.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement
    • Test new SEO tools, technical workflows, and AI processes that improve speed, accuracy, or output quality.
    • Help Rocket Clicks strengthen its family law SEO execution playbook through testing, documentation, and shared findings.
    • Identify responsible, high-leverage uses of generative AI in SEO research, audit work, content review, and analysis.
    • Share findings, prompts, workflows, and lessons with the broader team so the team improves over time.
