Schematic

Founding Growth Marketer

Schematic is a monetization API for SaaS and AI companies. We unify billing, metering, and entitlements so engineering teams can ship pricing changes in hours instead of quarters. Developers call Schematic for feature access and usage tracking. We handle plan versioning, entitlement enforcement, metered billing, and the connection to billing providers like Stripe for invoicing.

AI is pushing every software company toward more complex monetization: token-based pricing, usage tiers, per-seat-per-feature access, real-time enforcement. The category is forming fast, and we're at the center of it. We have strong early traction with customers ranging from AI infrastructure startups to enterprise analytics platforms, active co-selling partnerships with billing providers, and early momentum on GEO/AEO that we need to accelerate.

We're a seed-stage company backed by venture capital, co-founded by operators who've built and scaled B2B products before. Our customers include enterprise analytics platforms, AI infrastructure companies, and fast-growing SaaS businesses.

The Role

You'll own the inbound growth function from the ground up. Strategy, execution, measurement, iteration. You'll be part of our Product & Growth team alongside growth and solutions engineers, reporting to the Co-founder and CPO. You'll work closely with the founding team on positioning and go-to-market.

This is a building role, not an optimization role. Your job is to build a repeatable system that drives qualified sign-ups and demo bookings every month. You'll own what channels to invest in, what content to produce, how to position the product, and how to measure all of it. You'll have budget but not a marketing ops team, so the systems you build need to be ones you can run.

What You'll Own

Inbound Engine

  • Build and own the full inbound funnel: content, SEO/AEO, paid campaigns, email nurture, marketing site conversion, and channel partnerships
  • Design and run the measurement framework. Define attribution, build reporting, and know what's working
  • Manage external partners (agencies, freelancers, vendors). Set goals, review performance, and hold them accountable
  • Run and optimize paid campaigns toward cost-per-lead and pipeline targets

Content and Distribution

  • Own the editorial calendar. Coordinate content from founders, technical teammates, and freelancers across blog, newsletter, LinkedIn, and partner channels
  • Repurpose content across formats and channels. A podcast episode becomes a post becomes a thread becomes an email sequence
  • Monitor and participate in developer communities where conversations about pricing infrastructure, billing complexity, and monetization strategy happen

Marketing Site and Messaging

  • Own the marketing site strategy: messaging, structure, conversion paths, and ongoing iteration
  • Drive positioning and messaging for a category that's still forming. We sit between billing and feature management. You'll figure out how to explain that to developers and the business buyers who work with them
  • Turn product launches and customer wins into campaign-ready assets
  • Maintain competitive positioning materials against billing-only and entitlement-only tools

SEO, AEO, and GEO

  • We've made early progress on GEO/AEO and need to double down. Own the strategy for getting Schematic cited in LLM-generated responses, not just ranked in traditional search
  • Manage the SEO program: keyword strategy, content plan, technical health, and agency oversight
  • Identify non-branded keyword opportunities in a category where search behavior is still emerging

Events

  • Work with team and freelancers to ensure productive presence at major relevant conferences as well as organize meetups and dinners

Agentic Marketing and Automation

  • Build marketing workflows and automations using AI and agentic tooling. Lead scoring, content pipelines, reporting, social monitoring, email sequences. If a process can be automated, automate it
  • Set up and run the marketing tech stack. You should be comfortable building systems yourself, not waiting for someone else to configure them

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

  • 4+ years in B2B SaaS or developer tools marketing, with substantial experience building an inbound growth function from early stage
  • Experience marketing to developers and technical buyers. You understand how engineers discover, evaluate, and adopt tools. You know the difference between what works for business buyers and what works for people who read docs before they read marketing pages
  • Hands-on experience with agentic marketing: using LLMs, workflow automation (n8n, Make, or similar), and AI tooling to build real marketing systems, not just experiment with them
  • Strong understanding of SEO, AEO/GEO, content marketing, and paid acquisition for technical audiences
  • Comfort building in a category-creation environment where the market, the keywords, and the buyer persona are still being defined
  • Excellent written & oral communication. You can write a positioning doc, a campaign brief, or a technical blog post. You can also stand in front of a customer and clearly and credibly position our product’s value.
  • Strong measurement instinct. You build dashboards, track attribution, and make decisions from imperfect data
  • Growth engineering instincts: comfortable building landing pages, configuring tracking, writing simple scripts, or setting up webhooks

Should-Haves

  • Experience marketing to AI-native startups or companies building with  usage-based or consumption-based models
  • Experience as a first or second marketing hire at a seed or Series A company
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, Apollo, Ahrefs, GSC, and common GTM tooling

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in billing, pricing, payments, or monetization infrastructure
  • Experience in developer tools, API-first products, or developer infrastructure
  • Experience building or contributing to a developer community

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Meaningful, founding hire, early-stage equity
  • Health, vision, dental benefits
  • 401k
  • Remote-first (US-based)
  • Budget for agencies, freelancers, tooling, and paid channels
  • Direct access to founders with deep product, GTM, and content expertise

How to Apply

Send us a note that includes:

  • What you've built from scratch. We want to hear about a growth function, channel, or system you created where one didn't exist before
  • An example of a marketing workflow or system you've built using AI or automation tooling
  • Why monetization infrastructure or developer tools interests you
