As a fast-growing organization, we’re looking for a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Administrator to support accurate payroll processing, benefits administration, compliance, and financial reporting in a dynamic environment.
What You’ll Do
- Process accurate semi-monthly full-cycle payroll for all employees, including payroll changes, retroactive pay adjustments, vacation pay accruals and payouts, and quarterly commission and bonus payments.
- Coordinate employee lifecycle payroll and benefits administration, including hiring, onboarding, payroll setup, terminations, final pay, and benefit cancellations.
- Administer employee benefits programs and vendor relationships, including enrolments, updates, terminations, and ongoing plan support; plans include Manulife, Wawanesa, Fidelity Health Spending Account (HSA), Dialogue, and partnership programs like CAA memberships.
- Manage the company’s Group RRSP plan, including enrollments, contribution changes, updates, terminations, and ongoing employee support, including onboarding acquired employees into the plan.
- Prepare and maintain payroll remittances, reconciliations, and reporting, including WCB for Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and Newfoundland & Labrador, OHT/EHT, ROEs, and year-end T4/T4A filings.
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation and maintain accurate, confidential employee and payroll records.
- Respond to payroll, benefits, and tax-related inquiries from employees and internal stakeholders in a timely, professional manner.
- Support payroll audits, remittances, and compliance documentation, including coordination with government agencies, benefit providers, and external partners.
- Prepare payroll-related journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end reporting to ensure accurate financial records.
- Assist with broader finance operations, including accounts payable/receivable support, expense tracking, budgeting support, and payroll-related analysis.
- Maintain organized financial records, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation for reporting and audit purposes.
- Partner with accounting and management teams to support accurate financial reporting and annual audit requirements.
- Compile and organize carrier commission statements in support of employee commission payments.
- Manage and process subcontractor invoices via Deel and G-P platforms; post to NetSuite.
- Reconcile payroll liabilities against general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial records.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience processing full-cycle payroll and administering employee benefits in a multi-jurisdiction Canadian environment.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, statutory remittances, year-end reporting, and compliance requirements across federal and provincial jurisdictions.
- Hands-on experience with payroll reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and payroll-related financial reporting.
- High attention to detail, strong numerical accuracy, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Comfort working with multiple benefit providers, government agencies, and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency with payroll systems, Excel, and financial spreadsheets; experience with tools such as NetSuite, Rippling, or other integrated HRIS/payroll platforms is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines, prioritize competing tasks, and work independently.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, service-oriented approach.
Compensation & Benefits
- $65,000 - $75,000 (CAD) base salary
