Torramics, Inc.

Process Technician

At Torramics, we're doing something no one has done before: fusing leading nanofluidic technology with a breakthrough thermoelectric / thermal-diffusion nanoCompressor to reinvent injectable drug delivery. The result is a platform so small, so precise, and so reliable that it will change daily life for people living with insulin-dependent diabetes - starting with insulin and GLP-1s.

We're hiring two Process Technicians to work alongside our Process Integration team. You'll be the hands in the cleanroom - moving wafers through routine process steps, preparing and operating tools, collecting measurements, and capturing the data that turns a world-first MEMS device from an idea into something real. If you take pride in precise, repeatable fab work, this is a rare seat to have.

What you'll do

•     Run the process. Operate and support the tools required to build our MEMS device - including thin-film deposition, lithography, etch, wet clean, MEMS release, and metrology - moving wafers through standard process steps to SOPs and lot travelers.

•     Support the experiments. Carry out engineering split lots and DOE runs as designed, prepare equipment and wafers for processing, and record each step accurately so the integration team can trust the results.

•     Keep the tools healthy. Perform go/no-go tool qualifications, routine setup, first-line troubleshooting, and timely escalation when a tool needs additional support.

•     Own the data. Collect and log process and metrology data accurately, and flag out-of-spec results or deviations as soon as they appear.

•     Be the ground truth. Work shoulder to shoulder with process integration engineers, giving the team a clear first-hand view of what is happening on the cleanroom floor.

What you bring

3+ years of hands-on experience in a semiconductor, photonics, MEMS, or comparable cleanroom / fab environment.

Direct experience running process equipment in one or more core module areas such as thin films, lithography, etch, wet clean, MEMS release, or metrology.

Strong documentation habits - you follow SOPs and travelers precisely and record data you can stand behind.

Confidence working safely with process chemicals and equipment in a cleanroom environment.

Sharp attention to detail, steady hands, and the discipline to run repeatable process steps consistently.

Willingness and availability to work an assigned shift schedule and respond to tool or process issues during that shift.

An associate degree in a technical field, equivalent military or technical training, or equivalent hands-on fab experience.

Bonus points (not required)

Experience with MEMS or microfluidic devices.

Hands-on time with specific tools - e.g., PECVD / sputter, DRIE / plasma etch, lithography track, wet benches, or SEM / optical metrology.

Basic SPC, JMP, Minitab, or Excel for logging and charting process data.

Why Torramics

Your work is the product. The wafers you run become the smallest insulin patch ever - technology designed to improve daily life for people living with insulin-dependent diabetes.

Learn at the frontier. Work side by side with senior engineers on a device that doesn't exist anywhere else, and grow your craft on processes no one has run before.

A small team where you're seen. Privately held and headquartered in Silicon Valley, we've been perfecting our platform since 2021 - here, careful work gets noticed.

Benefits and upside. A competitive package with medical, dental, and vision benefits, plus equity eligibility. Shift differential information will be confirmed based on the assigned schedule.

The details

Location: Stanford, California. This is an on-site, hands-on cleanroom role supporting development work in the Stanford University nanofabrication environment.

Compensation: $80,000-$90,000 annualized base salary, depending on experience and overall fit. This is a salaried, non-exempt position eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law, plus equity and a full benefits package.

Physical requirements: Regular cleanroom gowning and extended periods of standing are required, along with routine handling of wafers, tools, and materials consistent with fab operations.

Equal opportunity: We value diversity and are committed to building an inclusive environment for all employees. If you're excited about this role but don't meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply - you may be exactly who we're looking for.
