UX Writers are an important part of our client’s UX design team. They help keep the customer front-and-center by understanding the online journey, puzzling through critical details and dependencies, and organizing information according to the user’s needs at each point of the experience. Copywriters belong to a cross-functional team on each project, partnering w/ designers, producers, product owners, business analysts and engineering development teams.
This role will work on both our client’s e-commerce website and mobile app as well as focus on a major partner portal.
For the portal, we need a writer who can organize the existing content and create a structure to bring the disparate articles, diagrams and presentations together. They will also need to establish the stylistic standards of the portal and then bring the existing content into alignment as well as create new content.
The e-commerce platform needs a UX writer who can create short and long copy for the website and app.
Day-to-day work includes:
-identifying content gaps and researching solutions
-solving for geo-specific exceptions
-analyzing and implementing copy and engineering feedback
-collaborating with designers to ensure copy and visuals work seamlessly together
-participating in testing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 4+ years of experience as part of a creative team in an agency or in-house design group.
- Strong portfolio of marketing, e-commerce, and/or product-related writing for major brands.
- Experience organizing large volumes of content within a website, setting and maintaining editorial standards and creating new content.
- Ability to create both technical and marketing content and do so as web pages, presentations or more technical documents.
- Ability to work independently, under tight deadlines, responding to shifting priorities, schedules, and deliverables. Willingness to write/revise copy on the spot with fellow team members and client during working sessions.
- Service-oriented attitude — flexible, personable, approachable, patient. Passionate about pursuing excellence and advocating for the best possible customer (end-user) experience.
- Understanding of design flows and storyboards for user experience journeys and transactions including familiarity with digital production and content management.
- Understanding of accessible copywriting (works with VoiceOver technology, etc.) and best practices that optimize the interface/experience for customers with sight, hearing, or mobility impairments.
- Comfortable writing content that will be translated into multiple languages and writing for multiple geographies. Requires awareness of how connotations and nuances shift across regions.
- Experience related to consumer electronics or global e-commerce is a plus.
