Materials Program Manager

Who We Are

At Framework, we believe the time has come for products that are designed to last. Founded in San Francisco in 2020, our mission is to remake Consumer Electronics to respect people and the planet.

We've started with two award-winning products, the Framework Laptop 13 and 16. Our laptops are thin, light, high-performance notebooks that can be upgraded, customized, and repaired in ways that no other notebook can. Alongside this, we've launched the Framework Marketplace to enable an ecosystem of parts and modules.

In 2025, we added two new products to our lineup: The Framework Laptop 12, a 2-in-1 convertible with a 12.2" touchscreen and stylus support, and our first non-laptop product, the highly customizable and powerful Framework Desktop, a compact system for gamers and ML enthusiasts.

We've seen a fantastic reception to both of our laptops from customers and reviewers from outlets like Linus Tech TipsArs Technica, and multiple Wirecutter reviews (including a recommendation among the best Windows Ultrabooks of 2024), along with making TIME's Best Inventions lists in 2021 and 2023. As a company, we were #35 on Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2022.

We come from successful consumer electronics startups including the founding team of Oculus, and have closed multiple rounds of funding to fuel our roadmap. Even better (and maybe unusually for an early stage startup), we're in a financially healthy position going forward off of our product revenue. We care deeply about building a diverse and inclusive team, and we hope you do too!

The Position

We’re looking for a hands-on Materials Program Manager to lead our materials management function for our fast-growing business.  This role plays a pivotal role in driving operational success within our Supply Chain Operations organization. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring materials readiness, availability, and visibility.  This is a key role that involves close collaboration with our ODM partner(s), parts/components/ module suppliers, and internal core teams.  Your scope will include internal and external materials visibility, allocation management, supply flexibility modeling, and materials liability oversight—including proactive end-of-life (EOL) planning and smooth material transitions between product generations to minimize risk and cost.

This is a remote position open to anywhere within the Taiwan region, with a preference for northern Taiwan. We have an office in the core of Taipei City where local team members often get together for work and fun.

What You'll Do

As a Materials Program Manager (MPM), you will oversee the materials match-set process with suppliers and ODM partners, ensuring efficient workflows and clear visibility to meet our demand requirements. Your ability to successfully partner with suppliers, ODM partners, and our Global Supply Management (GSM) team on material strategies will have a direct and measurable impact on our product success.

  • Materials match-set management: Provide clear visibility into materials supply, highlighting projected coverage and potential constraints. These projections guide Demand Planners in customer commitments and serve as a key input to revenue forecasts for our leadership teams.
  • Supply chain modeling: Partner with suppliers and ODM partners to develop models incorporating specific supply chain and materials flow details, enabling accurate projections to support supply/demand objectives.
  • Excess and obsolete (E&O) management: Identify E&O inventory and other material risks, recommend critical courses of action to our leadership teams, and take ownership of efforts to mitigate business liability.
  • Allocation strategy: Create allocation strategies for constrained materials by modeling across product lines. Provide allocation direction to GSMs, suppliers, and ODM partners.
  • Executive reporting: Prepare and present critical materials updates in weekly Supply Chain Operations reviews; maintain executive reports and summaries, ensuring leadership receives accurate, timely data each week.

What You Need

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in materials management, supply chain, sourcing, operations, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
  • Proven ability to solve problems and influence stakeholders through strong relationships and data-driven insights.
  • Professional experience with complex supply chain operations; prior OEM/ODM management experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to management.
  • International experience with fluency in English and Mandarin.

What You'll Love

  • Competitive salary, equity, and health benefits
  • Paid company holidays plus 20 PTO days per year
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Annual Health Checks
  • Flexible work hours and locations, including every other Monday off!
  • The chance to work at a startup that is making a positive social and environmental impact.
