Who We Are

At Framework, we believe the time has come for products that are designed to last. Founded in San Francisco in 2020, our mission is to remake Consumer Electronics to respect people and the planet.

We've started with two award-winning products, the Framework Laptop 13 and 16. Our laptops are thin, light, high-performance notebooks that can be upgraded, customized, and repaired in ways that no other notebook can. Alongside this, we've launched the Framework Marketplace to enable an ecosystem of parts and modules.

In 2025, we added two new products to our lineup: The Framework Laptop 12, a 2-in-1 convertible with a 12.2" touchscreen and stylus support, and our first non-laptop product, the highly customizable and powerful Framework Desktop, a compact system for gamers and ML enthusiasts.

We've seen a fantastic reception to both of our laptops from customers and reviewers from outlets like Linus Tech Tips, Ars Technica, and multiple Wirecutter reviews (including a recommendation among the best Windows Ultrabooks of 2024), along with making TIME's Best Inventions lists in 2021 and 2023.  We are incredibly proud to be recognized as #5 on Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2026 , a testament to our growth since first appearing on the list at #35 on Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2022.

We come from successful consumer electronics startups including the founding team of Oculus, and have closed multiple rounds of funding to fuel our roadmap. Even better (and maybe unusually for an early stage startup), we're in a financially healthy position going forward off of our product revenue. The Position

We are looking for a Senior Industrial Designer based in Taiwan to work with our fantastic team for creating and shaping the future of Framework products. We are specifically looking for an Industrial Designer who deeply values user experience and can bring out-of-box design thinking to enable our novel products.  As a member of a small and highly capable design, engineering, and product organization, you’ll work closely with other functional team members to enable world-class products.  You’ll be the key owner of the design and user experience end-to-end on one or more of our product categories, bringing in your design vision, taste, and expertise.

This is a full-time hybrid position working out of our office in XinYi Dist in Taipei. This role may occasionally require up to 10% local and international travel to suppliers and team workshops.

What You'll Do

• Own the product design from initial ideation through prototyping, NPI, documentation, and into production on new products on our roadmap.
• Work with core team members in both Taiwan and the US on cross-functional product development for novel products.
• Partner with other members of our Design Team to develop, mock up, and test prototypes to explore new product concepts and solve design challenges as they come up.
• Drive specification, CMF inspection, and managing the overall process quality for mass production with suppliers.
• Assist on 2D/3D drawing releases and 3D renders.
• Ownership of the design relationship with our JDM and external partners in the NPI phase for design deliverables and solving engineering challenges.

What You Need

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Design.
• 5+ years of experience in consumer electronics product design.
• An exceptional portfolio of designwork that demonstrates the design process from initial ideation to the design execution.
• Strong 2D and 3D visualization skills including free hand sketching and 2D & 3D rendering.
• Advanced CAD modeling and surfacing skills.
• Deep understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and design consideration for design for manufacturing.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal cross functional team members and external supplier partners.

What's Nice to Have

• A passion for environmentalism and/or DIY.
• A background in developing consumer product branding.
• Expertise in product 3D rendering and animation will be a plus.
• Experience working as a remote member of an international team.
• Familiarity with rapid prototyping using 3D printers.
