Community Marketing Manager

Who We Are

At Framework, we believe the time has come for products that are designed to last. Founded in San Francisco in 2019, our mission is to remake Consumer Electronics to respect people and the planet.

We've started with two award-winning products, the Framework Laptop 13 and 16. Our laptops are thin, light, high-performance notebooks that are easy to upgrade, repair, and customize. Alongside this, we've launched the Framework Marketplace to enable an ecosystem of parts and modules. We've seen a fantastic reception to both of our laptops from customers and reviewers from outlets like Linus Tech TipsArs Technica, and multiple Wirecutter reviews (including a recommendation among the best Windows Ultrabooks of 2024), along with making TIME's Best Inventions lists in 2021 and 2023. As a company, we were #35 on Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2022.

In 2025, we added two new products to our lineup: The Framework Laptop 12, a 2-in-1 convertible with a touchscreen and stylus support, and our first non-laptop product, Framework Desktop, a powerful, compact system for gamers and AI enthusiasts.

We come from successful consumer electronics startups including the founding team of Oculus, and have closed multiple rounds of funding to fuel our roadmap. Even better (and maybe unusually for an early stage startup), we're in a financially healthy position going forward off of our product revenue. We care deeply about building a diverse and inclusive team, and we hope you do too!

The Position

Framework is on a mission to remake Consumer Electronics, and we need a Community Manager who’s just as passionate about building community as we are about building better hardware. If you love engaging with tech enthusiasts, driving meaningful conversations, and turning community feedback into real impact, this role is for you.

You’ll be the bridge between Framework and our incredible community, making sure their voices are heard while keeping the energy high across forums, Discord, Reddit, Twitch, and live events. You’ll collaborate with our Content Creator, PR team, Product Marketers, and Event Producer to bring exciting initiatives to life—both online and IRL. Whether it’s sparking discussions, leading engaging activities, or just dropping the perfect meme at the right moment, you’ll help build a community that’s driven to challenge the status quo in a broken industry.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute community engagement strategies across forums, YouTube, Reddit, Discord, Instagram, X, and Twitch
  • Act as the bridge between Framework and its users, ensuring community feedback is shared with internal teams.
  • Plan and execute digital and in-person events, including AMAs, livestreams, and meetups, to deepen community connections.
  • Collaborate with content creators, PR, product marketing, and events teams to drive exciting community initiatives.
  • Develop programs, challenges, and engagement campaigns to celebrate and incentivize community participation
  • Support Framework’s developer and modding community by sharing resources, highlighting ecosystem projects, and enabling collaboration.
  • Monitor community sentiment and emerging trends, providing insights to inform product and marketing decisions.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to send out announcements via blog posts, newsletter emails, and community posts.
  • Identify and nurture key community leaders, moderators, and ambassadors to help scale engagement.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, community management, or a technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience managing online communities, social platforms, or developer ecosystems.
  • Must be willing to travel at least 5x per year for company workshops and marketing events.
  • A deep understanding of fostering online and offline engagement, including experience with forums, Discord, social media, and live events.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to craft messages that resonate with both tech enthusiasts and non-technical audiences.
  • A desire and ability to wear multiple hats in the early stages of a company, including direct engagement with the community, organizing digital events, and working with internal and external partners.
  • Experience hosting, moderating, or facilitating discussions in live or recorded formats, such as podcasts, forums, AMAs, or livestreams.

What's Nice to Have

  • Experience growing and managing gaming, developer, or enthusiast tech communities
  • You know about Framework and maybe even own a Framework product.
  • Familiarity with developer relations or engaging with technical audiences
  • Proficiency in community engagement tools like Discord bots, forum plugins, and social listening platforms.
  • Video or content creation skills to support community-driven storytelling.
  • Understanding of moderation best practices and conflict resolution in online communities.
  • Experience working with brand ambassadors, moderators, or influencer programs.
  • Passion for sustainability, right-to-repair, and modular hardware.
  • Technical knowledge of Linux, Gaming, PC building, or hardware customization.
  • A love for memes, inside jokes, deepcuts, and the art of keeping community discussions fun yet productive.

What You'll Love

  • Competitive salary, equity, and health benefits
  • Paid company holidays plus 20 PTO days per year
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Flexible work hours and locations, including every other Friday off!
  • 401K with matching for US employees
