About the Role

FreeWorld is seeking a full-time Recruitment Associate (RA) to support FreeWorld’s Recruitment and Program Partnerships department and help expand the reach of FreeWorld’s program.

The Recruitment Associate will work directly with the Recruitment and Program Partnerships Manager to:

  1. Support FreeWorld’s recruitment and outreach efforts by engaging with prospective participants (in person and online) as well as program partners.

  2. Support Free Agents in the application stage of the program - Lead outreach efforts and provide coaching and assistance to individuals who are deciding if FreeWorld is right for them and their career goals

  3. Provide support to our Documents as a Service program

Great candidates will be natural communicators, relationship-builders, and problem-solvers with a passion for recruitment and outreach. The ideal candidate can work independently but is open to guidance.

You may be right for this role if:

  • You’re passionate about giving justice-impacted individuals a legitimate chance.

  • You’re energized by the idea of joining a rapidly scaling organization that thrives on moving fast and pivoting quickly.

  • You enjoy engaging with people to create partnerships that provide program support.

This is not the right role if:

  • You dislike change. We tackle growth head-on and full speed ahead. We try something, we fail, we pivot, we plow forward, and then we do it all again.

  • You have difficulty engaging with strangers. As a member of the Recruitment Team, you will need to be approachable and communicate with a diverse range of people and agencies. If you prefer to stay quiet and keep your head down, this role is not a good fit.

  • You need a high level of manager oversight. We put a lot of trust and confidence in our team and encourage innovation and autonomy. Our managers are coaches and supporters. If you need daily 1:1 meetings and strict oversight we won’t be a good fit.

What you’ll do (Core Responsibilities)

  • Support efforts to recruit justice-impacted individuals to FreeWorld, using a range of approaches to make our target population aware of and excited about FreeWorld’s CDL training program.

  • Provide front-line support (via phone, text, and email) when FreeWorld applicants need assistance during the application process.

  • Travel to existing and future FreeWorld service areas to engage with Free Agents, drive recruitment efforts, and perform outreach to local partners. We currently operate primarily in CA, TX, CO, NJ, AZ, & NV.

  • Be dependable, resourceful, and professional at all times. Always provide prompt follow-up  and respond quickly to team members and Free Agents

  • Show patience and resolve in stressful situations and have empathy at all times

  • Support the launch efforts of our Documents as a Service program, which entails packaging our vital records solution (Social Security card, License, Birth Certificate, etc.) as a product and sharing it with other organizations.

  • Build a network of partnerships to support recruitment and program operations in each FreeWorld location, beginning with Las Vegas and Phoenix, and maintain relationships with program partners through consistent communication and collaborative engagement

  • Communicate effectively with all types of individuals regardless of personal beliefs. Partners may include nonprofits, support groups, government entities, parole offices, and more

  • Work with management to gather data to drive effective, innovative, program improvements and enhance the experience of our Free Agents and program partners.

Objectives and Expected Outcomes

  • Gain a thorough understanding of FreeWorld, reentry services, the trucking industry, and relevant regulation changes or trends that may affect Free Agents.

  • Build out the Program Updates (newsletter) distribution list to 300+ active recipients.

  • Increase enrollments in targeted areas by 200% within 6 months.

  • 200% increase in total enrollments year over year in 2025.

  • Increase FreeWorld's social media presence by developing digital marketing campaigns and posting schedules.

  • Launch the Documents as a Service Program in Q4 2024.

What you’ll have (Minimum Qualifications)

  • You enjoy engaging with others: You are willing to reach out to meet new people, and the thought of sharing our mission with others excites you.

  • You’re a problem-solving pro: When you find a problem, you fix it. You excel when you have the autonomy to test and evaluate solutions on your own and then report back your findings.
