Frontier Psychiatry

Clinical Therapist (LCSW/LCPC) - Alaska Residents

About Frontier Psychiatry

Frontier Psychiatry is a physician-led, tech-enabled telehealth organization improving mental wellbeing in rural communities. We deliver psychiatry, therapy, and addiction medicine through virtual care built specifically for places where care is hardest to reach.

We are a training site for the Yale Child Study Center, and our published research in JAMA Network Open found 38% lower hospitalization rates among the Montana Medicaid patients we serve.

We are guided by healthcare's Quintuple Aim: excellent patient care, a supported team, lower total cost of care, better population health, and greater health equity.

This is a fully remote position. While you'll enjoy the flexibility of working from home, applicants must reside within the state of Alaska to be considered for this opportunity.

The Short Version

  • Fully remote from anywhere in Alaska. You live in the state you serve.
  • Full-time, with a minimum of 27 patient-facing hours per week on a schedule you set.
  • $54,500 base salary plus a monthly bonus based on total wRVUs billed. The bonus is uncapped. Expected total annual compensation is $70,000 to $80,000 once your caseload is established. Therapists who see patients 27 hours a week year-round typically earn about $74,000.
  • Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy across a broad range of mental health needs. Frontier cares for patients of all ages, from children to older adults.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and a clinical pharmacist.
  • Weekly supervision, rounding, or case consultation as directed by the Director of Psychotherapy and Care Management.
  • We support the judicious use of clinical AI tools that have been vetted for efficacy and safety, always with a human in the loop.

Why This Role Exists

Alaska is home to many rural and underserved communities where access to behavioral health services can be limited. Frontier Psychiatry exists to help close that gap by bringing high-quality psychiatric and therapeutic care directly to patients through secure telehealth.

As a Clinical Therapist, you will provide evidence-based therapy to patients while working as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and a clinical pharmacist. You will have the opportunity to build meaningful therapeutic relationships, support patients in achieving their goals, and help expand access to care without sacrificing clinical quality.

We are hiring an Alaska-based therapist on purpose. Telehealth allows us to reach patients throughout the state, including communities where traditional access to behavioral health services may be limited. Living in Alaska gives you an understanding of the communities and realities your patients experience.

This is direct clinical work with a clear purpose behind it.
