About the Opportunity

Fueling Brains Education Services specializes in early childhood intervention, delivering high-quality programs for children accessing Program Unit Funding (PUF) and Mild/Moderate (M/M) supports. Our services are provided across Fueling Brains Academy centers in Calgary, with an additional site in Strathmore. We are deeply committed to nurturing optimal brain development through impactful, inclusive early intervention strategies.

We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Behavioural Strategist to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will support the development and implementation of individualized behaviour strategies for preschool and kindergarten-aged children within our ECS program.


Position Overview

As a Behavioural Strategist, you will be responsible for conducting behaviour assessments, creating individualized intervention plans, and implementing evidence-based strategies in collaboration with our therapy and teaching teams. Your work will help children build emotional regulation skills, social interaction abilities, and resilience in a supportive, early learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive behaviour assessments to identify children’s strengths, challenges, and needs.
  • Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized behaviour intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Deliver direct behaviour support to children in 1:1 or small group formats.
  • Apply trauma-informed practices and strategies focused on emotional regulation and social-emotional learning.
  • Support educators and caregivers in adapting environments and routines to support children’s needs.
  • Monitor and document progress, preparing regular updates and reports.
  • Provide coaching and modeling to staff and caregivers to ensure consistent strategy use across settings.
  • Remain current with research and best practices in behaviour analysis and early childhood development.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s Degree or BSW in Social Work, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree and significant early childhood or developmental experience will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children with developmental needs in early intervention or educational settings.
  • Strong understanding of child development, behaviour analysis, and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Excellent interpersonal, observational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads and documentation.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Current Police Check and First Aid certification are required.

Work Environment Requirements

This role may involve:

  • Occasional bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 40 lbs), or floor-level engagement with children
  • Exposure to typical early childhood environments, including noise, physical activity, and childhood illnesses
  • Occasional extended or irregular hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Maintaining emotional regulation in high-stress or challenging situations

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, (Part-time, 20hr - 32hr/week)
  • School year contract.
