About the role


Fusion Sleep, located in Alpharetta, Georgia, is an accredited, independent medical practice that is 100% dedicated to sleep medicine. Our expert team of experienced physicians are board certified in sleep medicine and focus on disease prevention and management. We are searching for a Sleep Center Manager to be responsible for the day to night operations of our Alpharetta location. Quality of services provided and regulatory compliance are key components of this role. Responsible for training and continuing education of new and existing employees on study protocols and lab equipment.


What you'll do

  • Maintain a flexible schedule that allows for availability during normal business hours as well as overnight, either training techs or as the acquisition tech, as needed.
  • On-call managerial support for night techs 
  • Responsible for evaluation, improving, and monitoring of all sleep lab processes and technologist competencies, which include annual reviews and disciplinary actions as needed. Often this will require working at the lab until after all patients' studies are running. 
  • Implements new programs, tests, methods, instrumentation, and procedures by investigating alternatives and prepares proposals with the Medical Director.
  • Responsible for staff recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training.
  • Responsible for educating and creating internal resources and processes for employees interested in becoming a RPSGT.
  • Schedules and assigns employees to weekly work schedules and coordinates coverage in the absence of team members. 
  • Maintains sleep center supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Managing chart preparation prior to testing (e.g. ensuring clear clinical orders and documentation is available to acquisition techs).
  • Complies with AASM continuing education licensure requirements by attending in-service programs, educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.
  • Manages day-to-day operation of the sleep center in accordance with AASM guidelines, professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Updates standard operating procedures and instrument maintenance protocols as recommended by the Medical Director. 
  • Management of the study scoring process to allow for timely turnaround of interpretation results by physicians.
  • Responsible for updating and optimizing report templates
  • Supports operational staff regarding technical and clinical questions relating to home sleep apnea testing (HSATs)
  • Facilitates communication between the interpreting physicians and scoring technologists 
  • Working closely with the Patient Advocate team to communicate monthly tech capacity and availability changes in order to meet company budget goals.
  • Overseeing the maintenance, cleanliness and appearance of the testing facility, including repairs, linen and janitorial services.
  • Pursues continuous improvement to achieve superior results by improving processes, eliminating barriers to success, and measuring progress.

Qualifications

  • RPSGT credential 
  • Experience managing 120+ sleep tests per month 
  • Scoring experience is required
  • Experience with and ability to manage 3:1 patient to tech ratios
  • Comfortable with performing sleep studies on adult and pediatric patients 
  • Ability to titrate patients on CPAP, Bilevel, ASV and Inspire
  • Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology, ICD9/10 and HCPC.
  • Capacity to troubleshoot technical and network problems as they arise.
  • Experience with Nox Medical testing devices and Noxturnal software is a plus
  • The Sleep Center Manager’s skills and qualifications include managing processes, managing schedules, presenting technical information, managing proficiency, equipment maintenance, training, analyzing information, informing others, quality focus, and clinical testing.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals and/or groups both within the organization or while representing the organization.
