About the Role
The Editing Lead is a hands-on editor who actively participates in daily editing while overseeing the editorial team’s work. This role is focused on directing and managing the workflow for the team of editors, ensuring that all processes are aligned to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality research. The Editing Lead will also be responsible for refining editorial processes, training team members, and ensuring continuous improvement in efficiency and quality. The ideal candidate is an experienced editor with strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Actively edit content on a daily basis, ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy, and consistency.

  • Oversee and direct the work of all editors on the team, ensuring workflow processes are followed and deadlines are met.

  • Lead and mentor the editorial team, helping to train editors in best practices and refining those processes as needed.

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve editorial workflows to optimize efficiency and ensure timely production.

  • Collaborate with the TopLine Operations Manager and stakeholders to align editorial plans with company goals.

  • Contribute to the creation, development, and refinement of editorial guidelines and processes to maintain high editorial standards.

  • Identify opportunities for editorial and process improvements, helping drive the creation of relevant and high-quality content.

  • Provide regular feedback to the editorial team to promote growth, consistency, and adherence to editorial standards.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Proficient in editorial processes

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Excellent editing, proofreading, and writing skills


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in editing

  • Previous experience in a leadership role is preferred but not required
