Role Description

At Galileo, our mission is to help teams build, ship and scale reliable and trustworthy AI applications.

We are seeking an experienced and technically adept Sales Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the sales process by providing technical expertise, conducting product demonstrations, and developing solutions that meet customer needs. This role involves working closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and articulate the value of our GenAI evaluation and observability platform.

Main Responsibilities

As a Sales Engineer at Galileo, you will play a foundational role in designing, building, and scaling our pre-sales playbook.

  • Technical Expertise: Serve as the technical expert in our GenAI Evaluation and Observability software, understanding its features, capabilities, and limitations.
  • Product Demonstrations: Conduct compelling product demonstrations that address customer needs and showcase the value of our solutions.
  • Proof of Concept (PoC): Manage and execute PoC projects, ensuring that customers can effectively evaluate our software's capabilities in their environment.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage with potential customers to understand their technical and business challenges, building strong relationships with technical champions and key stakeholders.
  • Solution Development: Collaborate with customers to develop tailored solutions that meet their specific requirements, leveraging our software's capabilities.
  • AI-Driven Process Innovation: Drive creativity and innovation in our sales engineering processes by identifying and implementing AI-driven capabilities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of our pre-sales activities.
  • RFP/RFI Responses: Assist the sales team in responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) by providing detailed technical information.
  • Feedback Loop: Act as a liaison between the customer and product development teams, providing clear, technically articulated feedback to drive product enhancements.
  • Sales Enablement: Support the sales team with technical training, resources, and documentation to enhance their product knowledge and selling capabilities.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support during the sales process, addressing customer inquiries and troubleshooting issues as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

We're looking for an exceptional Sales Engineer, interested in solving complex problems at the intersection of GenAI applications and enterprise sales.

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in presales, solutions engineering, or similar technical role, preferably within the AI/ML or software industry.
  • AI Application Experience: Hands-on experience building, deploying, or working with LLM-based applications and agentic workflows using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, Crew AI or similar.
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding of common GenAI application patterns including RAG, agentic, multi-agent workflows and the challenges of building reliable AI applications.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • PoC Management: Proven track record of managing Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to a successful close, ensuring customer satisfaction and alignment with their objectives.
  • Customer Obsessed: Passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving customer success.
  • Self-Driven Learner: Strong curiosity and initiative to continuously learn new technologies, stay ahead of GenAI trends, and proactively develop skills and expertise.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, product, and engineering.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology) or equivalent work experience.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and support sales activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previously a ML Engineer/Data Scientist who loved working with customers prior to making the transition to a Solutions/Sales Engineer role
  • Experience with Python or Typescript and libraries like Streamlit, LangChain, Pandas, and OpenAI
  • Strong track record of helping customers onboard onto complex platforms
  • Biasing towards thoughtful action with minimal direction
