Role Description
We’re looking for a Head of Field Engineering to lead and scale our Sales Engineering and Customer Success Engineering teams, playing a critical role in driving both pre-sales excellence and post-sales success.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end technical customer journey—from initial engagement to long-term value realization. You will partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and GTM leaders to deliver high-impact technical strategies, demos, and enablement programs for both Enterprise and Strategic customers.
Main Responsibilities
Pre-Sales (Sales Engineering)
• Lead the pre-sales team to deliver compelling technical value to prospective customers.
• Partner with Product to build and maintain high-impact demos tailored for technical buyers.
• Enable Sales Engineering teams to effectively position Galileo to a range of technical personas.
• Drive efficient and outcome-driven pilot programs, with customizations based on buyer personas.
Post-Sales (Customer Success Engineering)
• Design and implement distinct customer journeys for Enterprise and Strategic accounts
• Build a comprehensive customer enablement program including:
-Onsite technical workshops
-Deep-dive presentation decks with strong points of view
-Proactive value realization strategies
Minimum Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience leading pre-sales and post-sales engineering teams at high-growth SaaS or AI/Data companies.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead technical teams serving both Enterprise and Strategic accounts.
• Strong technical background, ideally with a degree in Engineering or related field.
• Deep understanding of technical buyers, including their pain points, evaluation processes, and enablement needs.
• Experience crafting scalable customer enablement and pilot frameworks.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, startup environment with high visibility and impact.
Preferred Qualifications
• Background in generative AI, data platforms, or developer tools.
• Experience leading hybrid teams and working closely with cross-functional partners in Product, Engineering, and GTM.
• Strong executive presence and ability to represent Galileo in customer-facing engagements.
