Role Overview:

The Estimator produces fast, defensible ROMs, budgetary estimates, and firm pricing while building and stress-testing Galtra’s estimating operating system so the business can quote quickly, consistently, and defensibly at scale. This role prevents the estimate-to-execution gap by enforcing maturity gates, maintaining traceable assumptions, and grounding pricing in real supplier and manufacturing inputs.

This is an experienced individual contributor role with single-thread ownership for estimating deliverables on assigned opportunities. The Estimator has authority to pause quote release when required inputs, documentation, or traceability are missing, and escalates through Operations leadership when a conscious risk decision is required.

Essential Functions:

• Develop ROM, budgetary, and firm estimates for modular and packaged MEP systems.
• Build and maintain cost models covering equipment, fabrication, labor, logistics, testing, and overhead.
• Partner with suppliers and internal teams to validate pricing, lead times, and capacity assumptions.
• Produce clear pricing outputs with documented assumptions, inclusions/exclusions, and risks.
• Support pricing reviews and approvals prior to proposal release.
• Translate awarded estimates into clean execution baselines for Operations.
• Participate in post-award reviews to improve cost accuracy and estimating tools over time.

Qualifications:

• · Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years in estimating, cost modeling, or pricing roles supporting manufactured equipment, modular systems, MEP packages, or industrial assemblies (not only stick-built construction).
• Demonstrated ability to build structured cost models with traceable assumptions and disciplined revision control.
• Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical concept documentation sufficient to support takeoffs and scope definition.
• Advanced Excel skills; ability to build and maintain estimating templates, cost libraries, and sensitivity models.
• Experience working with supplier quotes, lead times, alternates, and pricing validity requirements.
• Ability to communicate and defend estimates to technical and executive audiences with clarity and discipline.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity with rapid iteration while maintaining documentation discipline. ERP exposure and item master or BOM governance familiarity is a plus.

Travel/Relocation Requirements:

Travel up to 15% to suppliers, manufacturing partners, test sites, and customer sites as needed.

The pay range for this role is:

95,000 - 125,000 USD per year (Remote)
