Galtra Solutions

Senior Electrical Application Engineer

About Galtra Solutions!

Galtra Solutions develops and delivers integrated power and cooling systems for data centers, including modular prefabricated platforms. Our work spans design, engineering, manufacturing, and field deployment. We partner with OEMs, fabricators, and technology leaders to accelerate delivery of efficient, scalable solutions for hyperscale, colocation, and AI/HPC markets.

The Role

This is a senior-level, hands-on application engineering role. You will own electrical application engineering for Galtra’s prefabricated platforms, bridging customer requirements, technical design, and vendor execution. You will operate as a senior individual contributor with clear ownership of electrical configuration, integration assumptions, and execution readiness.

This role does not serve as Engineer of Record. Final stamped designs remain with the EOR and owner-appointed engineers.

Electrical systems depth is essential. Working knowledge of mechanical systems, controls, and automation is a strong advantage. Candidates who can operate across disciplines, make informed technical tradeoffs, and translate between design intent, manufacturing realities, and operational constraints will be highly favored.

What You'll Do

  • Lead electrical application engineering for prefabricated platforms from concept through design freeze.
  • Design and configure prefabricated electrical systems including PDCs, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, and packaged controls.
  • Translate customer requirements into scalable, manufacturable electrical solutions.
  • Specify and size electrical equipment; develop one-lines, schematics, panel schedules, and submittals.
  • Own electrical BOM accuracy and identify cost, lead-time, and supply-chain risks.
  • Develop vendor-ready electrical requirement packages and support technical clarifications.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, controls, operations, supply chain, and sales teams.
  • Support prototyping, FAT/SAT, and first-article builds.

What You'll Bring

  • BS in Electrical Engineering required (MS preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical systems, power distribution, or industrial product development.
  • Mission-critical or data center experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of electrical design fundamentals including load analysis, grounding, protection, and arc-flash principles.
  • Experience with prefabricated electrical equipment and modular systems.
  • CAD proficiency (AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, controls, and automation.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a remote, fast-moving, early-stage environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with data center electrical systems such as PDCs, UPS, generators, switchgear, and EPMS integration.
  • Exposure to commissioning processes, including FAT, SAT, or system-level electrical testing.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes commonly used in electrical system design and power distribution (for example, NEC, IEEE, UL, and NFPA 70E).
  • Comfort working with ERP/CRM/PLM systems (NetSuite, HubSpot, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with electrical design or analysis tools (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, etc.).

Travel/Relocation Requirements

Travel up to 25% to manufacturing partners, suppliers, test sites, and customer sites as needed.

What We Offer

  • Choice of comprehensive medical plans (including two PPO-style plans and a HDHP w/ HSA option).
  • Flex spending accounts (FSA).
  • Dental and vision plans.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental and vision benefits extended to spouse / domestic partner and dependent children up to age 26.
  • 401k with company match and self-directed brokerage account option.
  • PTO including additional paid time off during the last week of the year.
  • Company paid life insurance coverage for employees and their eligible dependents.
  • Short and long-term disability, AD&D coverage.
  • Professional development opportunities, tuition reimbursement, and professional licensing assistance.
  • Paid parental leave after one year of employment.
