About Galvanize Therapeutics

Galvanize is a biomedical platform company operating at the convergence of engineering, biology, and healthcare delivery, aiming to deliver life-changing solutions to patients and their doctors. We design and develop Pulsed Electric Field Systems to achieve meaningful and lasting therapeutic outcomes for patients.

About the role

  • The Research Associate will support the R&D Translational Science Team in executing the experiments and analyses to drive informed decisions and bring therapeutic approaches to the clinic. They are responsible for executing defined experimental tasks and analyses, as well as facilitating experimental operation, including support for various logistical, documentation, recordkeeping, biological sample processing, data analysis, and maintenance needs of the organization. They will be involved in benchtop, in vitro, small and large animal preclinical experiments, and analyses of clinical biological outputs. This is an opportunity for a motivated young scientist or engineer to enter and learn quickly about medical devices and executing in the biotech industry, quickly bringing ideas from the benchtop to the clinic.

Qualifications

  • Education and Training: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in biological sciences or biomedical engineering.
  • Skills and Experience: 2+ years of experience in research activities including biology, imaging, or cellular analysis. Experience needed in various in vitro and in vivo evaluation and imaging and quantification methodologies required, including ELISA, fluorescent microscopy, and flow cytometry, ideally with a focus on oncologic models. Experience with pulsed electric field cell and tissue response ideal.
  • Other: Some local or regional travel (30%). Handling of potentially hazardous chemicals and hazardous waste required. Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs occasionally.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with Translational, R&D, and Clinical Teams to execute foundational experimental models and methods to analyze clinical and preclinical biological endpoints
  • Performing standard molecular biology techniques
  • Operating laboratory equipment such as pipettors, centrifuges, fluorescence microscope, thermo cyclers, real-time PCR instruments, plate readers, and flow cytometry equipment
  • Support small and large animal preclinical study execution
  • Writing protocols and technical reports, organizing test results and performing data analyses
  • Collaborate with supervisory personnel to develop research methods
  • Generate intellectual property as results relate to new technologies and devices
