Chief of Staff

Gamesight empowers the industry’s top game makers through data, technology, and experiences.

Gamesight builds technology to help kickass games find commercial success. We do this by empowering game publishers with data so they can better understand their community, players, and game performance. We specialize in Measurement & Attribution, Influencer Activations, Creator Programs, and Creator-Led Playtests, all tailored to meet the unique needs of each game at every stage of its lifecycle.

About this Role

At Gamesight, we're looking for our company's personal Professor McGonagall. Like McGonagall earning the respect of rebellious Gryffindors, anxious first-years, and skeptical colleagues alike, our Chief of Staff must be a natural leader who can orchestrate complex initiatives through influence rather than authority. McGonagall didn't succeed through title alone; she earned unwavering trust through the 3 Cs: character (standing up to Umbridge's tyranny and protecting students), competence (seamlessly running Hogwarts while mentoring the next generation), and capabilities (from coordinating complex Quidditch schedules to transforming her teaching methods for different learners). When McGonagall needed Peeves to actually cooperate during the Battle of Hogwarts, even the uncontrollable poltergeist listened; not because rules demanded it, but because decades of consistent leadership had earned his respect. If you're someone who naturally earns respect and can mobilize teams through trust rather than mandate, turning chaos into coordinated action, this role is your chance to be our organizational cornerstone.

You will act as a force multiplier for the Director of Operations. You will (eventually) take the lead on key employee-related systems (hiring, for example), fill the gaps organizationally between teams and people (by building bridges or…damming the rivers? Making it so we don’t need bridges, basically), and increase communication and the speed at which we build trust across the org (we’re big The Speed of Trusters, if you know it). Some example projects you might work on include researching the implications, costs, and barriers to going carbon neutral, recalibrating our internal leveling system to create more clarity for individual contributors looking to grow, and starting a new shared Google Drive for the organization from scratch; archiving outdated materials and creating easy-to-find self-serve resources for the team.

What you'll do:

  • Analyze internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement & optimization across departments.
  • Increase efficiencies and overall execution velocity across our campaigns, events, and creator program teams.
  • Find opportunities to automate processes, safely and responsibly incorporate AI into our workflows, and create self-serve resources for the organization.
  • Develop and maintain internal knowledge base resources to empower employees with self-service tools for improved efficiency.
  • Working with multiple stakeholders from each team, you will drive, update, and ensure the completion of our key company initiatives..
  • Support our internal strategic working groups, learning & development activities, and employee engagement activities.
  • Create, build, and maintain training programs and processes for our service teams.
  • Audit, improve, and analyze Gamesight’s recurring meetings, agenda templates & meeting preparedness, and share best practices.
  • Act as the ultimate Culture Champion; understand what makes Gamesight Gamesight and harness that uniqueness and passion as often as possible in your work. Lead by example.
  • Work closely with the People Operations Manager and Travel & Logistics Coordinator to ensure a smooth, rewarding, and consistent employee experience as we scale (this requires understanding Gamesight’s culture and building systems that work with it, not against it)..
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing between teams and upskilling opportunities internally.
  • Maintain SOC2 compliance and prepare for and oversee our annual audit in partnership with trusted vendors (it’s tedious, but easy - we will teach you).

Who you'll work with:

  • You'll report to and work closely with the Director of Operations to accomplish strategic goals and meet company objectives.
  • You'll coordinate with department heads across the organization to drive key initiatives and improve cross-functional processes.
  • You’ll work closely with the team leads of our service-based products to create new processes and training materials that increase efficiency.
  • You'll partner with the People Operations Manager to align people programs with strategic business objectives.
  • You'll interface with external partners, vendors, and customers, looking for ways to improve our product, costs, and customer experiences.
  • As our Master of Whispers, you will work with every single person at Gamesight (again, for good, not evil).

Requirements:

  • Passion for video games, tabletop games, gaming culture, content creators, and/or nerd-core at large. 🎮
  • 3+ years of experience in business operations, project management, as Chief of Staff, or similar cross-functional operational roles. 💪
  • 3+ years of experience working in digital marketing, influencer marketing, or advertising agencies (with a heavy preference for someone who has previously worked in video game marketing). ✅
  • Experience working at an organization while it was scaling (a workplace with 25 people is wildly different from that same workplace with 200 people). 🌱
  • Excellent interpersonal, emailing, writing, and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence without authority. 💻
  • Experience with data analysis and the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders. 🧩
  • Proven ability to lead - both meetings and by example. Gamesight is a silly place, but we also have work to do, so you need to be able to keep people on track, follow agendas, create action items, assign owners, and sometimes you’ll need to do all of that without direct authority. 👣
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously with rapidly changing priorities. 🤓
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to connect day-to-day operations with long-term company objectives. 🧠
  • You are eager to learn. As a pioneer in a new space, there are still uncharted territories to be explored. You have a hunger for learning and an interest in being the best at what you do. 📚

Nice to haves:

  • Previous experience in the video game industry. 🎯
  • Fluent in more than one language. 🗣️
  • Experience using AI at work and an understanding of the risks, best practices, and ideal use cases. 🤖
  • Located in Boise, Idaho, or Seattle, Washington. 🗺️

Success in 90 days:

  • You are aware of Gamesight policies, guidelines, teams, and roles.
  • You’ve met with key stakeholders (internal and external) to understand how your role fits within the company’s ecosystem. You know our company’s goals and values and understand how to incorporate them into your work.
  • You’ve thoroughly investigated Gamesight’s approach to influencer relations and performance marketing and understand why customers choose us.
  • You can access all the tools and resources required to be effective; you also understand how to use these tools within Gamesight’s processes.
  • You understand our product, its capabilities (regarding creator programs and campaigns), and how to execute campaigns via the Gamesight dashboard (as someone who will help streamline our campaign processes, it’s important for you to rotate through the teams and find the pain points yourself).
  • You have reviewed all existing documentation and training materials for existing roles at Gamesight.
  • After receiving feedback and buy-in from relevant stakeholders, you have made at least one process or systems improvement that you are proud of.
  • You take ownership of Gamesight’s annual company-wide project tracker and ensure updates are communicated effectively across the organization.
