Staff Accountant

Gamesight empowers the industry’s top game makers through data, technology, and experiences.

Gamesight builds technology to help kickass games find commercial success. We do this by empowering game publishers with data so they can better understand their community, players, and game performance. We specialize in Measurement & Attribution, Influencer Activations, Creator Programs, and Creator-Led Playtests, all tailored to meet the unique needs of each game at every stage of its lifecycle.

About this Role

Gamesight is looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with a record of managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close. You will manage the day-to-day operations of our AP/AR function, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. You will collaborate with all teams across the business, developing processes and controls for efficiency, accuracy, and completeness of financial information reported to management and external parties. Our ideal candidate will see the opportunity to help the broader organization adopt a set of standard financial processes and goals as a tremendous contribution to Gamesight’s success. Using The Office’s accounting department as a reference point, we’re looking for someone with Angela’s attention to detail, Oscar’s problem-solving skills, and Kevin’s enthusiasm. You don’t have to love cats or chili, but you’re a great fit if you love video games!

How You’ll Make an Impact (Responsibilities):

  • Own the AP/AR process, including processing vendor invoices, customer invoices, and payments while building relationships with vendors and internal teams.
  • Monitor collections, resolve billing inquiries with the sales and campaign teams, and maintain accurate customer accounts.
  • Assist with journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation alongside the Controller and CFO.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards regularly to ensure leadership reporting is timely and accurate.
  • Process employee expense reports in Brex and support compliance workflows with team leads and Ops.
  • Maintain organized financial records in compliance with retention policies for easy access and audit readiness.
  • Manage and improve the integrity of QuickBooks Online and related integrations (Brex, Rippling, and other third-party tools).
  • Partner with Ops to maintain payroll, tax compliance, and HRIS/payroll integrations.
  • Identify inefficiencies and design improvements to accounting workflows and systems, creating automation, integration, and reporting solutions that scale with company growth.
  • Support timely payments to creators and influencers, ensuring accuracy and on-schedule processing in collaboration with the customer facing teams.

Who you'll work with:

  • You’ll support the Controller on financial activities and projects.
  • Expect to sit with the CFO and Controller to understand our organization, business model, and some of our quirks (that need to be un-quirked).
  • Work with the Controller to resolve customer inquiries related to billing and invoicing and help build accurate sales forecasts based on accounting data.
  • Partner with the Ops team to maintain our HRIS, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and administer benefits and payroll.
  • Collaborate with other team members on the sales, campaigns, and creator program teams to process customer, creator, and partner contracts, invoices, etc.

What You Need to Succeed (Baseline Requirements)

  • 4+ years of accounting experience with ownership of AP/AR operations. ➗
  • Hands-on ERP experience (QuickBooks Online preferred). 📊
  • Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including pivot tables and lookups. 📈
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (e.g., Rippling, Gusto, ADP). 🗂
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. 🔐
  • Self-directed, proactive communicator who thrives in a remote, async environment. 🤝
  • ✨Genuinely excited✨ about gaming and collaborating with creative teams. 🎮
  • Eager to learn. As a pioneer in a new space, there are still uncharted territories to be explored. You have a hunger for learning and an interest in being the best at what you do. 📚

This isn’t the role for you if you want step-by-step instructions, a highly structured corporate environment, or feel stressed by rapid change.

This Staff Accountant role offers significant opportunities for career growth and development. As part of a small, dynamic team, you’ll have the chance to gain exposure to a wide range of responsibilities—experience that’s often hard to come by at larger organizations.

We’re looking for a high-potential individual with strong initiative, a solid work ethic, and a natural sense of professionalism. You don’t need to have all the experience yet. What matters most is your ability to learn quickly, think independently, and solve problems with confidence.

By the end of your first 30 days, you will have:

  • Learned Gamesight’s policies, guidelines, teams, and tools, and know how to use them effectively.
  • Connected with key internal and external stakeholders to understand how your work supports Gamesight’s ecosystem.
  • You know Gamesight’s leadership team and are comfortable routing basic questions to the right people.
  • Learned our approach to influencer marketing and how it intersects with accounting operations.
  • Taken ownership of the AP/AR workflow.
  • Improved and documented at least one accounting process.
  • Supported month-end close and produced reporting on time.
  • Built strong relationships across teams and demonstrated independence in managing daily financial operations.
