About the role

Garden State Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a part- time Laboratory Technician, who will report to the Microbiology Manager located in our Hillside, New Jersey Lab.  The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for timely microbiology department samples, preparing analytical standards and maintaining all related documentation according to our laboratory standard operating procedures. 

What you'll do

  • Schedule from 1:30pm- close.
  • Analysis of environmental samples utilizing approved EPA and Standards Methods.
  • Preparation of media and reagents
  • Data entry and maintenance of laboratory logbooks
  • All samples and QC analysis as required by the method(s) requested.
  • Notification to the manager of any sample that appears highly contaminated or has other noticeable irregularities

Qualifications

  • Background in biology or other related science and/or environmental laboratory experience.   
  • Sample preparation and laboratory experience in the chemical analysis of drinking water is preferred, but not required.

  • Microbiology techniques
  •  Flexibility and willingness to train
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience with microbiology a plus

The pay range for this role is:

16 - 16 USD per hour (mai)
