Compensation & Benefits

Salaried position with annual discretionary bonus. 

Two (2) weeks vacation annually, seven (7) personal days annually, employer contributions to health, dental, and vision insurance, and employer 401K match and profit sharing.

Job Description

The Estimator is responsible for quoting each custom signage project and architectural fabrication. The Estimator is responsible for accurately determining the costs associated with producing and installing custom signage projects. This involves analyzing project specifications, design plans, and client requirements to prepare detailed cost estimates that include materials, labor, and other expenses. The Estimator works closely across all departments to ensure that each aspect of the project is thoroughly evaluated and priced competitively based on each department's current practices and cost structures. Additionally, the Estimator coordinates with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best pricing when outsourced work is necessary. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Follow and help advise on established estimating policies and procedures.
  • Assist in building, developing, and maintaining estimating models to accurately reflect current departmental costs and turnaround times.
  • Thoroughly review site surveys, bid documents (as applicable), project scopes, and/or any related documentation to ensure a thorough understanding of the estimate request.
  • Estimate design, fabrication, and installation needs for each sign type within a project. 
  • As necessary, explore alternate fabrication options and possible subcontracting avenues.
  • Provide estimates within allotted turnaround times.
  • Be accessible to explain the basis for all estimates.
  • On at least a quarterly basis, track and review the profitability of your quoted active projects to determine how estimating inputs can be recalibrated for better accuracy and project profitability.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and new technologies to maintain competitive pricing and accurate estimates. 
  • Provide inter-department feedback on costs and pricing.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of signage industry experience.  Must be able to:
  • Lift 50 lbs
  • Sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Reach, push, pull, bend, squat
  • Drive (have valid driver's license)
  • Ascend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs
  • Read blueprints and construction drawings
  • Wear personal protective equipment, when required (e.g. safety glasses, hard hats)
  • Work in loud environments

The pay range for this role is:

1,153 - 1,635 USD per week (DC)
