Gersh Autism is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing instruction and support to students with special needs, helping them reach their full potential and achieve academic success. You will work closely with students, parents, and other professionals to create individualized education plans (IEPs), implement effective teaching strategies, and monitor student progress. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs
  • Modify instructional materials and activities to meet individual student needs
  • Collaborate with other professionals to create a supportive learning environment
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers
  • Participate in IEP meetings and other collaborative meetings
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in special education or related field
  • State-issued certification in Special Education
  • Experience working with students with autism and other developmental disabilities
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs
