Graphite is a growing boutique finance, accounting & strategy firm built to help startups scale efficiently and sustainably. We're looking for a process-driven accounting manager with a proven record of establishing strong controls and demonstrated success in scaling up accounting role. This role will handle high-level accounting, managerial accounting, and oversee financial activities for our startup clients. This role is an excellent opportunity for candidates who have a strong desire to work for and with exciting and growing startup companies. This is a hands-on position that requires approximately eight years of accounting experience as well as experience managing a team. CPA or MBA are highly preferred but not required. We are looking for candidates with experience, drive, and passion.

Some of what you’ll do:
Be the direct contact point for clients, owning the client relationship; often working directly with CEO's of tech startups
Manage, coach and mentor multiple staff & senior accountants as well as detailed review of their work to ensure accurate financial reporting
Oversee all accounting functions, including the monthly close process, financial statement preparation, and day to day transactional work as defined by the scope of the engagement
Coordinate all activities in support of ad hoc projects, including but not limited to: external audits and due diligence support
Deliver on time and accurate client financial reporting for adequate decision making. Reporting on key financial metrics, trends and variances
Work collaboratively with our finance and tax departments to ensure all client financial needs are met with a high level of customer service
Who are you:
You have a Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting
You have 5-8 years of relevant accounting experience in public accounting or corporate accounting, preferably in a multi-client environment
You have experience in managing high performing accounting teams of at least 3 people
You have significant QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or Sage Intacct experience as well as experience with tech forward accounting systems such as Bill, Ramp, Stripe, Gusto, Rippling, Cin7, Brex etc.
Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet software (MS Excel and Google Sheets)
You’re a team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
You have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex accounting terms to clients, audit committee, and across the wider organization
You possess deep expertise in relevant accounting and control practices and experience with general ledger functions, month-end/year-end close process, and financial reporting
You are enthusiastic about working for and with growing startup companies

The pay range for this role is:
85,000 - 115,000 USD per year (Remote - United States)
