The Opportunity:
As a member of the AI Engineering Team, you will play a key role in building and optimizing our platform to deliver AI-driven tools that align with Gloo’s mission of championing personal and spiritual growth.
You’ll bring technical expertise and strategic thinking to coordinate the efforts within the engineering team will help solve challenging problems. You will contribute to feature development within specific applications, enhancing security, optimizing our full-stack architecture, and implementing solutions that enable Gloo’s strategic vision for AI-enabled growth and human flourishing.
You will work closely with the other engineers to ensure our platform is robust and scalable, supporting strategic initiatives such as next-generation AI tools, trusted data infrastructures, and enhanced developer experiences. Additionally, you’ll support integrating advanced AI models and ensuring our applications serve a broad range of users, from faith organizations to individuals seeking personal growth and rooted in trust. This role is hybrid based in Pittsburgh, PA.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Technical Excellence
- Designs and builds complex, flexible architectures that demonstrate best practices and prepares for future needs.
- Demonstrates team-level expertise in a particular area or go-to person for solving problems in their domain expertise for all of engineering.
- Actively educates their team in their areas of knowledge.
- Designs systems and applications for testability and quality.
- Marshals resources to improve testability and quality of systems and applications that need it.
- Delivery
- Takes a business unit’s strategic initiative, defines projects and works with teams to assign ownership and priority to those projects.
- Consistently identifies and delivers solutions that improve the efficiency and productivity of team members working in their area of ownership.
- Finds ways to deliver requested scope faster.
- Finds ways to deliver requested scope at higher quality.
- Strategic Clarity
- Adds clarity and nuanced understanding to Strategy and Design principles.
- Represents engineering in cross-org discussions.
- Helps guide their team on broader impact and mentors them on how their decisions impact Gloo.
- Aligns technology strategy with product strategy in partnership with Directors and Executives.
- Leads team to create and maintain architectural, process and strategic documentation for the engineering organization.

- Collaborates across functions including areas outside of engineering. Designs and refines processes that encourage a culture of collaboration.

What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6-8+ Years of Next.js or React experience, or other object-oriented and / or functional programming languages and frameworks in addition to Python and AI technologies.
- 2+ years demonstrated leadership experience leading large-scale technical initiatives
Compensation: $150,00 - $205,000
