This role has ultimate accountability for predictable, on-time, on-budget execution and margin performance across the operating portfolio, achieved through strong operational leadership, disciplined systems, clearly defined metrics, regular performance reporting, and effective cross-functional coordination. The VP of Operations ensures operational sustainability by building scalable processes, developing leaders, and reducing reliance on person-dependent execution, while partnering closely with Finance, Product, Legal, and executive leadership.

The VP of Operations is accountable for execution performance across Development, Construction, and Property Management, ensuring work meets technical, financial, and funding requirements, and that energy products are effectively integrated into delivery and operations through clear division-level ownership, defined operating rhythms, and coordinated execution across teams.

What you'll do

  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable senior operational leaders; build scalable teams, systems, and succession depth
  • Establish and enforce standardized operating processes, metrics, scorecards, and reporting to ensure predictable portfolio-level outcomes
  • Partner with Finance to set budgets and margin targets; hold division leaders accountable as P&L owners
  • Ensure disciplined handoffs from Development through Construction to stabilized operations, meeting industry-grade technical and financial standards
  • Drive construction excellence across cost control, scheduling, quality, safety, subcontractor performance, and compliance
  • Ensure property management operations deliver strong resident experience, stabilization, and funding-compliant tenant operations
  • Operationalize compliance with tax credits, incentives, loan covenants, and subsidy programs in partnership with Finance and Legal
  • Integrate energy systems and products into design, construction, commissioning, and ongoing operations
  • Champion consistent use of Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) tools within Operations, ensuring leaders apply disciplines to drive accountability, clarity, and execution.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience owning enterprise-level operational outcomes, including delivery performance, budgets, and margins across multiple operating units
  • Experience overseeing compliance for tax credits, incentives, or lender covenants, in partnership with Finance and Legal teams
  • Experience enforcing subcontractor certification/compliance (prevailing wage, domestic content, commissioning) and tenant qualification/verification systems
  • Proven track record of building, upgrading, and holding senior leaders accountable, including making difficult talent decisions when required
  • Experience designing and scaling operating organizations, systems, and processes to reduce key-person risk and enable growth
  • Proven ability to stabilize and optimize existing operations while creating capacity for growth, including repeatable frameworks for launching new initiatives or entering new markets
  • Working knowledge of energy incentives, domestic-content rules, and historic tax credit processes, or demonstrated experience partnering closely with teams that manage monetization preferred
