Registered Nurse - PRN

Make a Difference When It Matters Most

At Good Samaritan Hospice, we consider it a sacred honor to walk alongside individuals and families during the end-of-life journey. We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and adaptable Registered Nurse – PRN to provide expert clinical care, support our nursing teams, and step in when patients and families need us most.

This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who values flexibility and meaningful patient care and enjoys the variety that comes with supporting different teams and patient needs. Our PRN nurses play an important role in ensuring patients receive consistent, compassionate care — whether providing scheduled visits, responding to emergent needs, completing admissions, or supporting our inpatient and home care teams.

  • Develop collaborative plans of care with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team and provide nursing input into ongoing care planning
  • Participate in IDT care conferences as needed and communicate patient needs and recommendations to appropriate team members
  • Provide patient and family education to promote independence, support dignity at end of life, and help caregivers confidently provide care
  • Obtain physician orders when necessary and document verbal orders according to Good Samaritan policy
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Respond to families at the time of a patient's death, pronounce death according to procedure, notify appropriate agencies, and provide immediate bereavement support
