Role Overview
Gridline is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to help ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of our platform. You’ll work closely with Engineering and Product to build automated tests that validate core workflows, system integrations, and end-to-end user experiences.
This is an automation-first role with a strong engineering mindset. You’ll write test code, influence system design, and help embed quality throughout the development lifecycle as we scale.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automated tests across core platform workflows
- Translate product and technical requirements into reliable, repeatable test coverage
- Partner with engineers to ensure features are testable from design through release
- Own regression testing for key releases and critical paths
- Identify gaps in test coverage and continuously improve quality standards
- Support CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, confident deployments
- Assist with debugging, root-cause analysis, and prevention of production issues
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in SDET, QA automation, or quality engineering roles
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test suites
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and QA best practices
- Experience working in Agile, fast-moving environments
- Ability to break down complex business and technical requirements into effective test scenarios
- Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with Engineering and Product
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing SaaS or consumer-facing web applications.
- Familiarity with JavaScript-based test frameworks.
- Experience in fintech or data-heavy products.
