About the role
Gryphon is looking for highly motivated accounting professionals to join our growing team. The Senior Accountant position is an intermediate/senior associate level position open to professionals looking to continue developing expertise in Fund Administration and accounting. Our ideal team member is someone eager and motivated to progressively grow with us. We want people who are capable of problem solving and thinking outside of the box to achieve their goals.
What you'll do
- Lead the monthly/quarterly financial closes in QuickBooks/Allvue for multiple fund clients
- Prepare and review supporting work papers for capital calls, distributions, financial statements, etc.
- Create, develop, and maintain business relationships with clients, management, other service providers and key stakeholders
- Assisting in the development and training of new team members
- Leading the service workflow for multiple clients, allocating work to staff members, and driving deliverables through review to completion
- Maintain investor and investment information
- Assist with calculation and tracking of Fund performance metrics
- Assistance with treasury services, including accounts payable, investment funding, intercompany invoicing, etc.
- Coordination of audit processes
- Assist with client onboarding
- Special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 2+ years experience in accounting, with a focus on alternative investments funds – Venture Capital/Fund Administration experience a plus
- CPA designation and/or MBA a plus - progress towards this is great!
- Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and work papers
- Deadline oriented with ability to complete assigned tasks independently.
- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multi-task
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and able to interact with others at various levels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills
- Proven ability to work as part of a team
